You have to be willing to risk your life in " fastest b16a civic "
Likely the engine has had a pretty hard life, I'm not too sure about prices of EG's w/ conversions.

It all depends.
EG VTi hatches usually go for over 10... in good to decent condition.
This is a much rarer, more powerful sort after engine..

The "fastest b16a civic" quote is just to help it sell. If you are really interested get it checked out by someone who knows hondas.
If its good condition, i dont beleive the price is too much. Its not a bargain, but its a decent buy. IMO.

so if the price is ok, what should i look for in a JDM b16a EG5? engine, exhaust, paint, interior, etc?

and is it should has at least 170 hp? will it really faster than EK4? i mean stock to stock.

thanks

it will be faster than a normal EK4, the power output of the engine can be found on the net easily.

Cheers 170hp is the given output. This is on the asumption that 100ron octane fuel is being used, which in Australia our highest is 98. Because of that it is generally the same as an auspec b16a as found in EK4s. The advantage of being in an EG is the lighter weight chassis.

btw there is no such thing as a JDM b16a EG5. Just incase you dont already know i will clear that up. The link you posted was originally an EG5 with a b16a transplanted in it.

Things to look for are the same you would in buying any car.

Hi guys, sorry to be off topic and I'm sorry to hi jack your thread B18A but I didn't want to start a new topic else I'll get the flame.

I've been a troll around here for a while but having no car, I never have anything to contribute.

I wanted to ask you guys what should I be paying for a EM1 as this will be my first car.

Thanks guys.

you will find most people who do a transplant are after more power... which means he has either thrashed the crap outta the car and wants to sell it cos it doesn't go as fast as he wants or he has issues with the car due to the conversion. This is with most transplanted cars. But if you get the NRMA to do a check on it they will be able to tell you if it is in good condition (note since its in QLD i think there is some type of equivalent??) and worth the buy. Compression testing helps also...
