$400 budget.

need a set of splits
as much BASS as possible.

So far ive found Rockford Fosgate.. to provide the best bass. and mix of clarity.
Can anyone .. recommend anything better?

(splits will be amped by a 2ch KICKER)

these guys http://www.woofersetc.com/p-1189-xr650csi-jl-audio-65-xr-series-component.aspx

Been running them in my ride, awesome.. 4 different mid and tw settings via xovers. Can adjust tweeter and midbass via the xovers, 4 different settings per channel

Best off adding a sub + dynamat to your boot for bass.. doors tend to rattle, and ruin SQ with xtra bass.. consider adding another amp and sub to your setup

theres lots of stuff better than rf imo.

what have you got atm? what eq settings? hows the installation/door treatment? have you sealed the door leaks as best as you can? used sd?

or simply pop into a store and see whats available in your budget.

if you had another 2-chan amp, or a 4-chan then you could try going active with drivers from scanspeak, sb acoustics and/or peerless - assuming you have the processing ability to.

I will checkout the JL's immedietaly thanks.

Ive checked out the Type R's, just not enough for me thx 4 the suggestion.

Arverson, the car is full STOCK. infact your gonna laugh but i havent bought the CAR YET.. im just shopping for one.. im definately gonna buy stock i always do my own systems.
I have planned out everything perfectly.

As for the SPLITS, they iwll be amps by a kicker 2ch, kx200.2 the woofers will be boxed up, and i will be dynamating too..
All i need is just RECOMMENDATION lol

I will have a sub too guys.. dont think im just running splits.

since you havnt bought & planned everything perfectly yet id say go active, get another 2chan or a 4chan, and get drivers from scanspeak, sb acoustics and/or peerless. you can get some bloody amazing drivers from them with $400 that, imo, sound better than the mainstream rockford, pioneer, jl, alpine type r's, kicker, etc.

only questions are what headunit and/or dsp are you planning to use? and how much technical knowledge do you have to tune an active system? tho i guess you can always pay a pro to do that for you if you dont know how.

another option is dual midbasses.. im assuming by 'bass' you mean lots of mid-bass kick and not subass in the 50ish hz region..

but, in the end, if you like rf cus it 'ticks all the boxes' for you, then just get them.

Dude JL isn't value for money at all I'm running an entry level w12v1 sub its a heap of sh*7 a waste of $450 I cant run more then 180wrms into the sub without it crapping itself. My old vibe sub ran better and produced cleaner and deaper bass in a smaller box and can run 2ohm stable 400wrms, i purchased this years ago for like 220 inc the box. its currently in my brothers car with 600wrms running it with no clipping of popping. just by some SPL Dynamics SD-6.2 for $149 http://shoppingsecure.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=4 OR FLI INTEGRATOR COMP 6 http://shoppingsecure.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=77

If your in syd go to fairfield car radio http://www.fairfieldcarradio.com.au/, lifestyle store, Doran or RFX

Budget is $500 to spend on DOOR AREA of the SOUND SYSTEM.

The amp i already have. thats y not changing although maybe in future i will upgrade.

Midbass drivers, are very pricey.
i have looked into it before posting up this thread, and came to the conclusion im just after splits. Its not gonna be a full hecktick sound system just a clean one.

=======
FLI is weak .. i had them b4.
SPL dynamics entry level is horrible however the good shit is very good.

Doran is the shop i plan to buy everything frmo dw :)

to be blunt, if youre not open to suggestions, already set your limitations and know what shop you're gonna buy from.. then no point askin for advice. pop into doran and have a chat with them.
