Does the cold air pipe and filter help in anyway in a stock car. and Is it bad to just put a pod filter on the stock pipe with all those little gizmos on it.

if you just stick the pod at the end of the stock piping it wont affect anything, otherwise just pull all that crap out. All its there for is to restrict the noise and attempt to smooth the torque a little and wont be missed

ive removed all the stock piping from the throttle body back to the box and now running with the pipe and pod, and was amazed at how much "crap" was hanging off the old air intake pipe that had no use

you can just remove the airox and put a filter on, yeh. While you're there remove the white resonator box thats under the bodywork where the stock airbox is.

28RAG yeh there is a lot of crap on there, resonators and the intake solenoids etc. But thats what you get on a family car :)

basically, any of the solenoids and crap that are connected to lines that come off the intake can be removed, and any vac lines that go back to the throttle body should be plugged up (there should be only one or two of these).

If you do that you'll be fine.

Oh there's also a crankcase breather hose (from the valve cover to the intake), you should plumb that into the PCV line or into the new intake
