ive got a obd0 ef8 crx, can i use a main relay from another honda say eg/ek? or do i need to get one thats from the same era like DA teg or ED civic etc.?

no you cant,

you can however use any other OBDO PGMFI relay. eg Integra, prelude, CRX ED9, Concerto.
