I guess im new to hondas' and what not. coming out of a beemer affection, honda will have alot to live up too in terms of luxury etc. actually looking to sell it currently if anyones interested haha' 95' M3 replica. anywho,

looking to buy a 92' integra that comes with a b20 conversion already installed with skunk2 intake, custom manifold and hiflow cat etc, 18inch konigs, type R brakes, drilled + slotted rotors, coilover suspension.. and so on..

can someone guide me please on parts and time and labour needed (specifically any regular problems encountered on this endevour to i can tackle the problem when it arrises) on a B16A head with comp pistons, valves, springs etc. onto the B20 bottom end. also, Sourcing parts for this, eg golden eagle vtec conversion kit (read abit about it, dont compltetely understand it though, please speculate) Where do i get these from? and i need things like boot liner and wouldnt mind some blacked out headlights etc.

Please guide me!;)

you will find plenty of info on this site and dont forget that handy search button.
now for a good b20vtec conversion your looking at around 5-7k with tune.
theres a thread in the all motor section i think called the b20vtec disscussion thread.

have you read the thread?
if your gonna build a decent b20vtec with all good parts and not cheap shit it can get towards 5-7k easy.
also including port and polishing, referb and shaving head, bottom end rebuild with good parts...
yes you can do it cheap for about 2-4k...

Timmy_B
31-01-2011, 08:37 AM
sam, 5-7k is a good price for any build. Thats not over budget. But thats a fully worked b20. put the same money into a b18cr and see the results. Plus type r motors are still pricey, so you could be looking at 4k + just for motor.

Ummm I'm pretty sure what he means is $5-7k for either a built B20v OR Stock B18cR/5/6/7. No need to build the B18c.

b20 with b16 top because theres a b20 (non vtec - yes i agree i wouldnt have done a crv conversion < hahahaha) with type r brakes, slotted and drilled rotors, skunk2 intake, magnaflow and straight pipe / canon etc, type R pieces, coilovers, 18 inch wheels n shit for sale and i might scorch for 3 g. so yeh and sam yeh tru gimme a buzz when you are comen down

integragsi96
31-01-2011, 05:49 PM
sounds good mate....with hondas 18's looks like 20's on commys lol
but being in newy be careful with the straight pipe...a little risky.
actually there's this for sale on here if your interested already had a b20vtec conversion done.

look in the for sale section then mate....someone might be interested.
umm usually with pictures its best to use photo hosting sites like photobucket and etc lol...
aww the eg civic is standard under 1t...its very light but then again personal preference tho.
well if your after a lude only get the vti-r....integra stay away from the gsi (the model i have) as it has no vtec.

yeh gsi's are a nice comfortable car.
great cruiser and all you need to make it competitive is an engine swap and some suspension mods.
my car is just shy of 300XXXkms and im having to replace bushes, cv boots, radiator hoses, lower engine mounts, and other things..but after all that its basically got a new life.

all im saying is that if all that work is required, with those amount of km's on the clock, its probably worth investing in a replacement car for lesser cost

jarrod strange
03-02-2011, 05:58 AM
nah itd need to be lower then that. its guna be sitting in my garage for about 3 months while some sort of build takes place. lol i need something fairly cheap. if anyone knows of someone who has a dato 1600 good condition worth anywehre from 5500-7000 ill swap mine for it. has to be rust free atleast. im in the market for either old cars like datos or st162 celicas' (yes i know thats very controversial posting that on a honda site hahaha) or anything of interest like that ay. id have an EG civic or anything like that so long as its cheap and has low Ks (reasonably) and is a possible good buy. im happy to replace head-gaskets or repair body work aswell.

i was considering buying this for the noosa historic classic car hillclimb in the invited group but when i had a job and now cannot get it...

guys, just picked up a Vtir b18c2, thrashed beyond its poor life. vtec engages about 5900rpm, i want to reduce it to 5000rpm. need some more bang for me buck mods too eg skunk2 intake manifold, 74mm OBX throttle body...

integragsi96
04-04-2011, 08:12 AM
bad man!!!!
finally you got one!
pics?
just remember the b18c2 intake manifold (IM) is upside down to the rest of the b series. it points down instead of up...pain in the arse tbh!
a buddyclub vtec controller can get you down to 5k rpm.....or look into a apexi afc neo vtec/air/fuel ratio controller.
good to hear you ended up going down the honda path instead of the toyota levin path

B18c2 VTEC crossover is actually 4400rpm. Your just hearing the secondary butterflies opening up at 6000.

Skunk2 manifold is a great mod, I've done it myself.

But 74mm throttle body?? That's way over the top mate. Stick to an oem DC2R 65mm tb. Don't go bigger than Skunk2's 68mm tb. It's way too overkill.

only problem is the ****er didnt tell me it had been in a smash and seens i picked it up for 3800 instead of 5500 i thought i had done alright.

on that, should i get a new solenoid to get the vtec opening up abit louder? it seems to be reasonably soft as apposed to other vtecs ive driven (sam ive never been more cut i didnt get that black one i was lookin at for 8500, nothing compares to it that ive looked at or now bought lol)

04-04-2011, 12:25 PM
too bad your sale fell through at the time....woulda been a clean example getting round newy!
you can hear the vtec crossover more once you have done I/E/H mate....

Well I'm glad :)

Am I'm sure youve read a million times, B18's don't have a very loud crossover like a B16.

The quieter the crossover the better

jeremydawg
04-04-2011, 12:59 PM
^yes!
so many people expect b16 like crossover with any vtec engine. Personally i think b18 crossover is just as good as a b16 crossover. with a b16 its loud and sounds great whereas a b18 is deep and sounds like a roar lol, i really cant get over both. id be happy with either one
