13.9 is great. But tell us this

exact EG type ( si , vti , breeze etc ) sedan or hatchback ?
exact tyres used
exact GVM ( your cars weight , minus the driver )
exact 60ft and MPH at the 1/4 .....

as an example I got a pb of 13.7 @ 103mph , jdm 4-1 header standard ITR exhaust intake . EP3r muffler. full interior etc - ps and ac removed. sunroof intact. 980kg without driver.Tyres were bridgestone RE001's.

Looks like excellent traction as this is relatively low mph for a high 13sec run. Congrats! For your first time, that's a great run!

Interested to know what rpm and how you handled the clutch!?!

I'm curious what rpm you launched at? Is it worth launching lower and having traction or launch higher and just deal with the wheelspin?

Launching is crazy hard - and different with every tyre! On my EGB18CR I found 2000rpm - bog for half a second, 3000rpm - bog for half a second, 4000rpm - wheelspin and wheel hop. Anywhere between? either or!!!! If you invest in traction bars and up the tyre quality, you could prob launch higher, but on semi or street rubber, lower actually works better than on the street imo!

I have the same car/engine and have the same problem. Do you ride the clutch at all? I find even launching at say 2k if I put my foot down the whole way it just keeps frying the tyres so have to take it easy on launch. Running 195 toyo proxes.

Do you mean internally stock and you have I/H/E

Or do you mean you have stock I/H/E?

nice times. MPH should give you a 13.6 with perfect launch and 1/2nd gears ! my pb was about 2.1 60ft and 103/13.7
