Just installed aircon into an ek, and the tx valve block and the compressor dont have power.

i forgot /dont know which fuses are required.

can anyone tell me what fuses /relay's are required and where they go?

kind regards!

just to add , all wiring that was supplied is done - obviously there is a lacking relay in the engine bay like older 92-95 civics. Where is this relay set located on a EK ?

If EK is anything like EG, then there is a pressure switch on the condensor. Seeing as you've just installed it, im guessing you haven't had it re-gassed yet.

If the pressure switch doesn't sense any freon gas pressure in the system it won't send the signal to the ECU to ground the circuit meaning the compressor won't switch on. Basically, if you want to test this, bypass the pressure switch, turn on the car and aircon and see if the compressor clutch kicks in.

ps. just installed aircon into my EG and spent hours trying to figure this out too.

if you do the above (bypass the pressure switch) only do it for a very short period of time. You could potentially stuff the compressor if you run it dry for an extended period of time.

KC , to the best of your knowledge the system is gassed correct ? there is a fuse missing ECU cant see / connect power to the parts. Does anyone have relative images of a EK civic air con engine bay wiring diagram or engine bay images ?

download the Civic EJ6, EJ7, EJ8 (96-00) Service Manual

There is a No. 56 (20A) fuse in the underhood fusebox and No. 17 (7.5A) fuse in the underdash fusebox. THe relays are also located in the engine bay fusebox for EK

the service manuals have step-by-step guides for pretty much everything, they're awesome. half of all noob posts I see wouldn't be needed if people just read the FSM

solved - relay was missing from engine bay fuse box. Owner told me the original mech / seller of air con kit put something in there to begin with - exactly what who knows lol !
