Hi guys, new to the forum , but a regular at Skylines Australia (SAU)

Now, just purchasing my partner a 1993 Honda Integra GSi (DC4)(auto)

Now, me being so paranoid about the Skyline, i was wondering if i could grab some do's and don'ts with the Integra engines.

First few things that i need to do would be :

Oil Change
Oil Filter
Coolant drain and change
A/C Regas
Shocks and Springs test at Pedders for $14
Air Filter change
Change brake pads and rotors if need be.

Now needed to know the specifics:

What oil to use, 5w-30?
Oil filter, any specifics needed?
Coolant should be fine, just going to use Nulon
A/C Regas, any changes / adapters needed ?

What sort of brake pads / rotors does it require.

Also another thing that just popped into mind is the A/C vent in the centre console is broken, is it hard to get a replacement from pick n payless for that, or will it be a mission just like the damn Skyline (very rare)

I did a quick search before posting and couldn't mine through the data and find what i was looking for so please forgive me if i did miss something whilst searching.

Thanks in advanced

mrxtc :)

For oil use 10w-40 as it's summer Because everything is just so much hotter, It's slightly better just to use a little bit thicker in hotter weather. 5w-30 for winter.

"but" if your engine is worn and you have leaky valve steam seals or worn piston rings, You can use a slightly thicker grade of oil to ease the oil burn. NOT TOO THICK though as you'll be putting more stress on your engine components.

For oil Filter I recommend OEM.

Coolant You can just use whatever floats your boat I guess.

For Aircon re-gassing, Nothing is needed if the aircon worked previously. Just pop into any workshop and they should charge you around $70-90 Anything more and they are ripping you off to make some moleh!

Oh yeah! as for your Vent. You can source parts easily on this website, Simply post a WANTED TO BUY thread or browse through the FOR SALE section and hope you find what your looking for.

i would also recommend using 10w-40. That's what i used when i had a 97 integra.

10w-40 it is then i guess, used to use royal purple on the skyline so i guess Mobile 1 should be ok for the Integra.

Well thats what i was scared of having to fork out 240 for the A/C but oh well guess it might need to get done, im gonna try pick n payless for the A/C vents and see if they got them somewhere. Is that one whole peice connected to the A/C control unit ?
