Hi i have a 95 civic hatch Vti b16a convertion. I recently bought this car and was told that the air con didnt work, but that it did previously and stopped working one day. The whole unit doesnt even power on. If it was blowing but not cold air that would be easier. Could it be the air con fuse? And if i check that and everything seems fine what else could it be? Also when making a b16a convertion does that stop the air con working?

if u don't hear the a/c on then either u have an electrical problem
or there is no gas in your a/c.

You need to get it check out.

so no gas in the a\c would prevent the whole unit from even turning on.. including heating ?

no if the heater fan doesnt work, it bould be the fan speed resistor , or a fues, heater should work. air con will not cut in if there is a fault with gas pressure or aircon system, to hi or lo. or if your evaporator thermostat sensor is faulty or unplugged, other than that it could be an electrical fault.

well nothing turns on, doesnt blow air, none of the lights turn on in the a/c console. So i think it might be an electrical fault. How much would it roughly cost to get someone to look at it and get it fixed (electrical problem)??

take it to an Auto Elec, generally they are cheaper than your dealer to fix, if your in melb i can point you in the direction of a guy i use all the time. does a awesome job and doesnt charge the world

Yeah im taking it to a honda specialist which i found out was just a suburb away. I live in perth though, melb auto elec wouldnt be useful :) . But im still sceptical on if there is gas problems why not even a light would turn on. I mean the guy at the honda place started talking about pressure and how too much or too little would be harmful but i started to zone out thinking about possible prices of re gasing and all this other shit to do with compressors and crap :(

sounds like an electrical problem, check fuse first.

I'd check the fuse.. and then the A/C switch.
