13k would be a lot to pay for a vti-r but too little for a Type R. So spend a bit less on a vti-r and save the rest for mods or save a bit more for a Type R

imo that's a good price for 12k... as long as u get it checked by racq because i doubt you will know as much about cars when it comes to them and the 150-200 pricetag is worth it in the long run

By RACQ you mean Roadworthy Cert

Yeah sort of, you can get them to inspect your car. And they give you a slightly detailed sheet saying what's wrong with the car.or any leaks etc status of things you would way to know.

How much does it Cost? They would defs say something about the ride height but that is easily adjustable cause the car has coilovers

listen, whats the point of even asking. u could pay 12k for a vtir, then find out that its completely ****ed, or you could pay 8k for one and find a good one

you could pay 12k for a type R and find a gem, or you could pay 13k and find a peice of shit thats been thrashed

moral of story is, dont sit on the computer asking questions, go out, have a look at the cars, and inspect, so u know the difference between both cars, and drive a few different type Rs to know which one is better then the other.

What are Signs to look at if its been thrashed? I did the calculations, the car is 11 years old and has done 141000 k's thats approximatly near 13k a year. Yes i will go and check it out eventually, just a bit hard as i dont have my P's, and he lives a Hour away,

Check oil leaks, check how the clutch is, if its still a stock clutch and its strong, then thats a great sign. Check oil levels after you drive it, make sure check oil level before.

things like that, theres heaps of info on net.

Gearbox crunching, etc, my mechanic would also look at it check all the lines, etc for leaks and shizz

Again, buy a decent Vti-r, rather than a shitty Type R. You'll have more money left over for insurance, and less money spent on repairs. You'll also have a better chance of keeping it on the road.

Get an N13 Pulsar GL. Not a lot of power, and shitful handling, but it looked great with speed stripes on the bonnet, and I could fit my drumkit in the hatch, along with the odd female. What a great car.

Although I would have had an EG Civic in hindsight.

that yellow DC2 looks good. but I highly recommend Type R over Vti-r, so be a full baller this one time and go all out and get the car you actually want. you can earn it back later anyways!

Not really, PM the thread, carsales link

Is there a vehicle status check for NSW just like Victoria, or do you have to pay for it?

lol 1st car honestly dont waste 13k on a type r, you dont even know if your tastes of opinions gonna change later down teh road, i got my car and 2 -3 months later i got bored and wanted a rwd or an awd, your young so your gonna want to experiment, buying an expensive car then realising that you want a change and then having no money for another car or finding it hard to sell the car u have now is a bummer, im still thinking of selling or keeping my car but yeh. Every1 i know recomments getting a shitty cheap car that you can thrash around, coz theyve already been through it all, all the phases and sht of being on your Ps, wanting one car then finding it doesnt suit your taste or ur need, or you change overtime and you want another car. For me they recommended just keeping what i got now till im fulls because ill just be wasting money but even though my mentality was "ill buy this car keep it till fulls and mod it up on the way", being young you do tend to lose interest easy and your bound to want another car ill guarantee that, my tastes have gone from eg,ek,dc,r32,r33,fc3s,s13,s14,180sx,preludes,supra mk3/mk4 and so on, and every now and then i kinda drift away for abit. To be honest i still wud prefer a rwd atm, iuno just for fun and games but yeh my opinion, go buy urself a cheap 5k vti-r, spend 2k on it and youll be satisfied for the time being i reckon, exhaust, intake manifold and a cold air or short ram intake and i sure youll be happy with it, yeh it wont go as hard as a type r but its cheap and you cant really say you wanna keep the type r for life, your young atm theres plenty of other cars out their to experiment with and your bound to get over the type r. Not hating or anything but yeh i like dc2r, way more then the dc5r, i like the fact its high revving, vtec and its non turbo so its all motor, i hate the fact its fwd, and i will never like fwd as much as the other 2. I would never turbo one, im like a purist, if it was built NA then it should stay NA, and to build a quick responsive NA youll be wasting alot of money. Bottom line is, in future when your on your fulls, and you decide to get a turbo car, the money that you mightve used to mod your dc2r would show way more gains on the turbo engine, you actually feel the gforce and its prob gonna bw a rwd or awd and youll have much more fun then. Some ppl say its bad to think too far ahead but it considering its cars and most of us here love pouring money into it, id say it doesnt hurt to try think ahead and really decide what you want =) in the end its all up to you.

*end rant*
