gday,

the ek (under thrttle body)uses a different icav sensor to the eg(back of inlet maifold). how can i work it so i can use the ek manifold in the eg?

cheers

Don't think you can. The d16y4 doesn't have both fitv and icav. The Eg ecu typically needs to see both. Use a d15b7 or d16y1 inlet manifold

the eg i have had a d15z1 vei engine in it. therefore there are extra sensors on it. what about if i put the manifold off the d15 onto the d16? the d15 inlet is a lot smaller, but all sensors will match up harness, will inlet size make a big difference, there is 15mm difference. i cannot use my current vei ecu either, can i? if not what would you reccomend, P28? if changing the ecu i will still have the sensor problem? i will be changing mounts, altenator etc today, can you think of anything else i will have to change. how much would i pay for a y1 inlet? is the d15b7 the same size inlet as d15z1?
cheers

On obd1 engines ( all Eg engines) the fitv ( fast idle valves
) is located underneath the throttle body.

if i fit the b7 or y1 manifold i have to change the water pump to thermostat housing pipes and lines, is that correct? does this have to be done so the fitv has a water feed? if not why does this have to be done?
appreciate your time,
cheers

yes to the above - you change it so u can use the water lines to the FITV , ICAV etc ( both have water lines )

ok, thanks for that. i am starting to understand. is there any way of using the 16y4 manifold, maybe adapting y4 wiring. i know i have made a mistake with what i bought but i cant really afford any more bits. do have any idea on what the cost of the parts i would need, and maybe where to source in brisbane.
thanks for your time.
cheers

i have a D15b7 and D16z6 intake manifold you can buy if you get stuck
(both the same cept the Z6 makes better power lol)

how much are they worth? and these are both obd1, right? so my harness should match straight up? so then all i would need is obd1 ecu and my original dizzy.

they are both OBD1, i have no idea if the VEi harness is the same or not but it shouldnt be much different - pm me for price
