Hello

I have an Iphone and am trying to use it with the factory fitted bluetooth in my Euro.

I can get it to pair and connect. However if I leave the car for 30 minutes and get back in it just won't connect again and the only way is to go through the process of removing the phone from the Bluetooth system, pairing again and then it connects. But the same pattern occurs after I leave the car for a few moments...it won't connect again. I've tried it with another Iphone too and the same thing happens. Both Iphones work perfectly with other bluetooth systems.

So is it an issue with the phone not being compatible with the Bluetooth system, or could it be a faulty Bluetooth system.

Does anyone here use an IPhone with the factory Bluetooth system in the Euro and does it work for you?

cheers

Peter

My iPhone 3GS works fine with the factory bluetooth. Sounds like a glitch with the Honda bluetooth system if it's happening with 2 different phones.

Hi Pete, sounds like your particular bluetooth unit may have a fault. What model of Euro do you have?

If your car is an early model it may well be that your unit does not support the later model iPhones. My bluetooth unit is 2 yrs old and works well with my iPhone 4. Does your bluetooth manual list iPhones as supported?

Thanks for your response.

The vehicle was purchased new just over a year ago. I've tried it with an IPhone 3 and 4 and no luck. I'n not sure if the manual lists compatible phones. Because the phones work perfectly with other units I suspect the fault is with the Bluetooth unit....particularly because I can initially pair and connect.

I went and searched the Honda Australia Bluetooth page for compatible phones, there is a PDF link:

Hope it helps

Interestingly I don't think you are alone. There is talk on Apple forums about factory Bluetooth not working correctly:

Well thankyou! That is very helpful

According to Honda the Iphones are compatible so I'm leaning towards thinking that the Bluetooth unit may be faulty

Not trying to be rude but maybe list the procedure you are following to connect the phone, it might be different to someone elses. :)
