I am in the middle of organising a Kswap for my eg and am looking around at ECU's atm.
Having done some research & talking with a few tuner mates, i have narrowed my options down to the Hondata Kpro & the Haltech Platinum EP3R plug 'n' play (http://www.haltech.com.au/index.php/product/platinum-pro-plug-in-series/honda-civic-ep3)
pretty much all im wanting to know is how many people have run this computer or does everyone seem to go for the hondata?
I am building a dedicated track car and so am thinking of running data logging as well.
Haltech have their own digital dash w/data logger, but a few boys in the states that i have spoken to said they run a Kpro with a AiM digital dash w/data logger so if anyone has info on these units as well would be good to hear it.

I would use/recommend Hondata Kpro. Cant really comment about haltech never use them/or tuned them. For support/tuners/resell value Hondata. There are a few for sale on this forum for relatively cheap. You can log/dash via the tunerview screen.
If you get stuck looking for one pm me.

Easy to use software, Kmanager. USB connected, so if your at the racetrack and wanting to change a parameter, simply plug your lappy in and adjust away.

Same can be said for the Haltech - Easy to use, ECU Manager software, real time tuning (with no irritating upload timelike you get with K-pro), USB connection etc...
It does everything the Hondata does + more (Except you need an extranal wideband meter for wide band lambda control)
& you're getting a whole new ECU not just a modified std ECU with a daughter board so vuisually you seem to get more for your money.
That said, having tuned a lot of both ECU's, choosing between the 2 on ability really is a tough call. For competition use, both have excellent data logging & accesory featureshigh & low cam maps for fuel, ignition & VTC.
Both ECU's have user freindly software that's very comprehensive.
The latest beta K-manager software also solves a number of previous issues that were iritating.
Either way, I'd say you're better off talking about this with your tuner & if you're going to be using it for competion where the datalogging is critical. Check out both software types & see which one you're more comfortable with.
Which ever way you go, you'll be fine as both are great ECU's.
Price wise, I guess the Hondata is probably cheaper, but then it takes longer to tune.
The bonus with the Haltech is it's made in Australia with a warranty that's real & bang on after sales support that's only a phone call away.
(There are likley more tuners accross Australia familiar with Haltech software than there are tuners familiar with Hondata too)

Thanks heaps for your input Adrian. You have pretty much confirmed everything that i had found while doing my own research. When i was talking to Trent down at Chequered Tuning (a.k.a Status Tuning) who is my main tuner, he said that it just came down to personal preference, as he has tuned both ECU's and was just glad that i wasn't asking about AEM. I will have a chat to one of my mates who works at an authorised Haltech workshop and see what price they can do me on the ECU & dash
