WTF!! Why doesn't the eg front struts fit into the Ek forks? They're too Fricken skinny and don't sight tightly in the forks! I thought front suspension was a straight swap?

Does anyone know if eg forks will fit an ek and who has some for sale?

we talking adjustable coilovers or a shock/spring combo here?

Shock spring is too thin to sit in ek front forks after much research I suspect the suspension I bought is for ef

easiest is to look for part numbers
as far as I know, they should all fit the same, but the fork heights varied

Front suspension should be a straight swap. Done it a few times. Rear is a different story, need to file down EK Control arm as EG Fork is Skinnier.

^ opposite, ek is thinner than eg so need to add washers

Really? Well, I'm using EK suspensions and they fit fine on the EG/DC2 forks..

^ you sure? thought you had to shave your bushings leo?

I'm running an eg h&r kit and I had to add washers to mine to make it fit
we're all talking about the rears now, right?

he's talking about the front forks...

the rears, ek forks are smaller which requires shaving

^ was replying to munkaii's comment :p

but yes as far as I know eg/dc/ek all fit the same for the fronts

It's looking more and more likely that the front struts are for an ef hence why they are different width to eg and ek struts (same thinkness) which is why they won't fit in my ek forks..

I already know I need to add washers to the rear forks eg forks are wider then ek bushings

Go buy ED/EF forks and use it.. should solve the problem. Though.. I've used DC2R shocks on my EK before.. they were also too thin..

Whoops! So just to confirm,

EK Forks are smaller and so you need to shave EG control arms?
EG Forks + washers to fit on EK Control arm?

front - the forks should be a direct fit between EG and EK

Rear - the EG shock bottom fork is larger than the EK shock bottom fork
- So for EG shock to fit on EK LCA, Add washers betweek the fork and the bush
- for EK shock to fit on EG LCA, you need to shave the Bush (No pun intended....well, yes..intended)

Yes the front fork strut diameter should be the same between ek ans eg as im using ek struts in eg forks, the only difference is the other end which bolts to the control arm.

hahahaha, thats really good info there... are there any significant height difference between ek an eg shockers?

Don't know but I run EK Koni yellow shocks with ITR springs (Thanks Shifty) and I like the height it give...

My next question is will ef front forks fit my ek front lower control arm and are there any length differences between the 2?
