tanabe sustec pro 5

hi all..i got a set of tanabe sustec pro 5 series on my ek1..ive been tryin to soften it up but its not wrkn..do i need to take it into a mechanic or a supension place to look at it?? or wat should i try doin?? rite now its really bumpy..the car would lift of the ground when theres bumps on the rd and the dash board would feel like its gona jump out...any help would b appreciated
