DC5 Speaker upgrade

Hi OzHonda.

Just signed up, bought a new type S on the weekend and want to upgrade my system already as my speaker crackles when i put it up vol 30

I dont want to change my HU, it looks pretty cool and i hope it gives enough power.

i want to upgrade my speakers only, all 6 of them no subs or amps

is this a good idea? will the stock HU take care of the aftermarket speakers?

I think for your question it depends on what speakers you end up getting. If you get large output speakers then I imagine your headunit would struggle. I think most people get a decent amp to power anything more than the tweeters if they upgrade substantially from stock. But I'm waiting for someone more knowledgeable to post on this thread though. They will want to know your budget or any speakers in mind already to answer your question better.
