Hi guys, how are you all today ? I've registered a while ago but never had anything to say/ask until now.. so hello ! :)

I thought it's best to create a new thread and ask for your assistance. This will be my first car and I would like to confirm some details.

Firstly, can you please confirm if the details below (referenced from the sticky) are standard on the EM1 ?

From the sticky:

Civic VTi-R
Released: 1995-2000
Engine: 1.6L DOHC VTEC 16 valve 118kW
Weight: ?
Brakes: 4 wheel Anti-Lock Disc Brakes (ABS)
Features: Power windows, mirrors, sunroof (not available on the Coupe) and central locking
Models: 3 door hatch or 2 door coupe.

I.E. power windows and mirrors, ABS are stock on coupe's.

Also, will there be anything in particular that I need to look for when inspecting the vehicle ?

Sorry about the newbie questions but as mentioned earlier, this will be my first car ever and I rather take the flame to ensure I get a vehicle in tiptop condition.

Thanks alot for your time guys and I hope to hear some replies soon.

Sorry guys but another question, is there a way that I can determine if the engine is the B16A2 ? Anything that I could use/look at ?

Thanks

if its a twin cam then it will be a B16A2 with 118Kw.

ABS is stock on all AUDM EMX, the early EMz had SOHC and Drum rearf brakes, VTIR has 4w disk.

yes their all stock with central locking, power windows and mirrors.

Thanks fly, will keep you sale in mind.

Hi guys, I have a question. I test drove one today and when you fang it and switch gears quickly, as soon as you let go of the clutch so that it goes into gear, the whole dash rocked (or shook). Is this normal ? What's the reason behind this ? Does it mean something is loose ? Or is it when you change gears quickly, the power transfer causes vibration to the dash ? (i'm just making this up logically) Or is this what FWD is all about ?

Thanks.

yeh its normal...cause apparently the civics dont come with an LSD unlike the dc2r or skylines and so forth. which is why i doesnt feel as smooth when u hammer it

It happens in the DC2R as well - shook violently in my cuz's car. It all depends on how you let go of the clutch.
