wanna put say a alpine ida headunit to the accord euro, how to you go about this? where do i put it? is there a DIY out there i can read?
i just really want to play my ipod via headunit controls, i read up on the xcarlink, it seems cheaper, but i hear that SQ goes shit on higher volume? and u have to control from the ipod itself ye?
where can i buy the xcarlink, i tried the website but it brings me to the page after check out which blows up with warning n shit.

some people chuck additional head units underneath the oem one, in the pocket
i was thinking of getting a xcarlink in the near future but if the sq goes to shits after turning it up then im not going to bother

hahah aite too easy. Pop down to jb-hifi and order in a double din kit just go to their car audio section and ask whoevers their theyll get you the part and a harness costs about 50 dollars. this will go where that big push door is down the bottom of ur stock headunit.
once u have this and ur headunit do the following
1) grab a knife and pry the plastic cover around ur shifter off it may feel like it will break but its prety strong. then if u have the lux unplug the two heated seat plugs using the pin (push it in)
2) pull out the console above it where the ashtray and A/C port is its very simple. look Around for screws coz i cant remebr if their is any their.
3) just keep working you way up should have to remove a few more screws
4) put the knife in on the side of the top pannel where ur two center airducks are and pry it up. its reely simple to get off. Now the only things in ur center console shuld be ur radio and ur door thingy. remove the screws above the radio and remove the radio by moving it around. theirs clips so its a bit had but ull get their
5) This bit was a bitch for me but try wiggle the door out now.
6) insert the kit u bought from jb and wire up the headunit u bought to the harness that comes with the kit. plug the harness into the harnes that comes out og the stock head unit and bam ur new one will owrk. their shuld be another spare plug comming off the harness too this plugs into ur factory headunit so that the time/ac controles etc can still be seen
That my freind is it sounds hard but once u start ull realise its fairly simple.
ive done it about 5 times to my euro now and can get it all done in about 15 minutes but ur first try may take a few hours. best of luck
btw say goodbye to ur stearing wheel audio controles if u do this :(
let me know if u need any help

Oh ye i think if u buy a headunit with a USB port in it u can select songs from the head unit, however if its aux port only i think u have to change songs using the ipod, corect me if im rong tho....

na if i get the headunit with ipod i can control from the headunit, my past 2 cars ive used the headunit to control my ipod. i dont want aux as it doesnt charge it and u have to select from the ipod.

wouldnt bother with a xcarlink personally.
and if you want to get an aftermarket HU and still keep your steering wheel controls, look up 'pac audio' for a 'pac-swi'. thank me later.

I had an xcarlink very poor. I had a JVC HU installed in the pocket and it was the best thing I ever did. Averson, I heard that those units that keep the steering controls are about 700+ Is that true?
