2004 accord euro popping noise

Anyone experienced a popping noise toward the rear of the car upon decelleration about 15-20kph.
When applying brakes you get a soft pop noise that sometimes sounds like it pops on the left and then the right. Mechanic seems to think its a valve in the head. The euro has only done 120,000kms and always been serviced. I find this difficult to believe.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Guys

Sounds like an exhaust leak champ.
Weather it be from the exhaust or valve, you'll have to find out....

Start your car up and look for leaks around exhaust joints. It may be easier just to take it to an exhaust place so they can put it up on the lift.
Check valve clearances for valve, not that easy lol!
