hey guys, just wondering if anyone vtec kicks in slow?
question1.
i was drivinig ona straight road to today and i decided to give it a kick and it felt so slow.
the rev took awhile to get to 7,000rpm
could it be not enough air flow? or oil?

question 2.
i also have a werid ticking sound coming from the back when i take off. not a constant ticking but. i went through the threads here tighting the massive bolt on both side of the wheels stil makes the sound.
question 3.
when im parking on idile i can smell petrol like hard from the car.

anyone could give me a idea why and what i can do to fix it =P
thanks, john

Maybe you've got a loose fuel line somewhere, and/or faulty fuel pump. Faulty fuel pump = less fuel pressure = less fuel pressure = less VTEC. I'd say you have a split somewhere, hence the smell! I'd check it out first, not for the VTEC, but just for your general safety.

Otherwise check:

- That your pod does not have a cloth on it (If you got one)
- That your intake filter isn't dirty (If your stock)
- Check that your car is warm enough (2bars and a bit minimum) to VTEC
- Spark Plugs for fouled tips
- Water in plug well
- List goes on mate..

Peace.

Thats everything the invoice said but i also got to go for a drive with their top technician who is a specialists in Integra Type R and S2000 and he drove my car and i was passanger and checked it and i asked him stuff he said vtec was working perfectly now etc which was pretty cool... yeh. after the service the car did feel a lot healthier and was more responsive and felt faster in acceleration. OEM oil (10w30) wasn't as responsive as (5w30 - what i normally put in) but still good.

hope that helps?

Reamed you

The figure before the 'w' is the viscosity at -18C. So basically it should be the same.

hahaha 'looked at stuff' , 'reamed you' craked me up lol, anyway with the cracks from the rear i recon its probably your bushes, if it gets worse slowly over the next few months then deffinately bushes. there not to exp though, i havent looked into it but if whiteline do bushes go them bit better than standard i'd imagine.

for vtec bneing slow, maybe plugs but when i had problems with my plugs it was either vtec or no vtec, not slow or fast coming on

5w30 vs 10w30 in Australian summer would make no difference. If it's a Canadian winter, then yeah. I sometimes wonder why people rave about changing oil that they get AWESOME response and feel... like really?
