ek civic hatchback door trims into eg civic hatchback

Hi guys, I'd like to install ek civic door trims into my eg hatchback, they look very similar in shape im wondering if its a direct swap or how much modification is required, thanks

Tried this at the wreckers yesterday, aswell as various prelude and integra trims, none can fit :(

Vinyl paint? Is it any good? I think I might prefer retrimming the doors in black vinyl, won't bother now for a while anyway. Only wanted to do it if it was easy and factory looking.
