Hi guys,

I'm a proud owner of a CL9. Don't mind the CU2. The 2011 Face lift is only minor, but what a difference. Loving the look of the updated CU2!

I'm pretty sure I have seen a new one in town, it had different mags. 7 spoke?
The fog lights looked different, that's about all I noticed.

The Acura TL is what we know as the Honda Legend.

The Acura TSX is what we know as the Honda Accord Euro.

@antony The Acura RL is the Honda Legend here not the TL.

TL is just above the Accord Euro/TSX. I think TL only sold in the states and no where else?

I'm still glad I bought pre-facelift over the facelift model. I do like the redesigned headlights and hope I could retrofit it onto my standard model one day. Read that the lights are now hi/lo beam combined and move too - sort of like the Legend's headlights

The Acura TL is what we know as the Honda Legend.

The Acura TSX is what we know as the Honda Accord Euro.

The Acura TL is a USA market car only. It is based on the Honda Accord (yankee version) underpinnings. The Acura RL is sold in the rest of the world as the Honda Legend.

I suppose that the one advantage of a big ugly schnoz-grille is that there is more of it to paint black; turning an ugly car into a non-gender specific good 'looker'. Nice wheels! It doesn't look like the facelift new model though.

Look's awesome! I just got my latest Honda mag and it is sweet. I want it...

Is it just the Lux Nav version with the active headlights?

Bluetooth integration and USB standard on all models. Auto headlights and wipers on standard model too as an option!

How does auto low/high beam work on lux nav version work? Active headlights is that only on lux nav?

Integrated bluetooth on steering wheel and fold away key is cool. Is that all models too?

Though it says it's says it's down to 147kw's?? It says more fuel efficient, has it lost weight I wonder?

We will have to wait & see how our AU models are specified & what options they have.

hmmm....somehow the headlights look a bit too busy....not very sporty....

http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCESS/accord/exterior/img/aerobumper-front/new01.jpg

kinda like the simplified look with the clear indicators.....

auto lo/hi beam xenon hids? not sure how useful is this in general night traffic...

like the active cornering lights up to 40km/h....

other features can easily sourced and installed....just a matter of money and how far you want to go..

At this stage I still intend upgrading even though my current car gets very little use these days (around 7,000km per year maximum). When depends on when my mothers Estate finally settles & that could now be mid 2012 now that my good hearted sister is contesting it. I would like to think I can go up to the Luxury Model but a lot will depend on what I get for my current car as I will be chasing top $$$ for it as it is in as new condition, totally unmarked with low kms.

Then you might as well wait for the next euro. I expect the next model to be released in 2013/14 if the CL9's model life is anything to go by.

The next euro will at least have a 6spd auto (Which the recently released for the Acura TL)

this platform so deserves a slightly more driving focused model release.......it's a shame there isn't one and if there was not sure if Aust would get it.

would be interesting to see what motor will be used for new model hondas from now on....the K-series have had a good run.

Considering in the USA just had the new Civic released, looks just like the current Civic with a CRZ interior chucked into it, with same engines and everything....

I wouldnt put my hope up.

Any news on when it will be released? It should be end of May early June (now) but my local dealer keeps saying more like July/August/September; which can't be right.

Hi guys,

have a look at the recommended onroad price for the new euro. its interesting the stanard auto is 47k and the lux auto is 51k. i can't believe the difference is only 4k between stanard and luxuary model mainly for sunroof and leather trim, here its more than 8k. Don't know honda decided to keep the gap narrow between stanard and lux model, may be same going to be here in australia too?

I'm pretty sure NZ has auto folding mirrors that we don't have and both their models use the standard 17" rims, not like the 17" for base and 18" for luxury.

There's probably a few more differences but I didn't look at them closely, oh and with the facelift model it seems that the NZ model doesn't have that DRL through the highbeam.

The Russian model kept the DRL : http://www.honda.co.ru/CommonFiles/Honda_RU/Cars/Accord/01_review_of_model/02_exterior/Foto-2.jpg

I thought pricing for NZ cars was always higher than that of Australia anyway?

yes, a bit higher.. also Honda NZ has this thing called "Our Price Promise" they sell it at the retail price not a dollar less.

Gone is Cobalt Blue but we miss out on Vortex Blue (Acura TSX) and instead get washed out Celestial Blue. Honda twits.

Celestial Blue is the sedan at : http://carincs.com/2011-honda-accord-for-europe

I beleive there will be a new Silver,Blue,Grey, and Red.

The only colours which will be identical will be the Black and White.

Europe has had a scattered release,as some countries have the new Euro, others dont.

I am sure the earthquake in Japan has had something to do with it,as NO production from 11 March to 11 April, and production is now running at 50 percent capacity, because of parts shortages from suppliers.

Capacity should be 100 percent again by the end of the year.

Does that only apply for the Automotive industry because Apple, Miele, Asko etc. do it.

In OZ, unless specifically authorised by the ACCC, it's illegal for a manufacturer or importer or distributor of any goods or services to attempt to maintain a set retail price or to try to penalise or deny supply to any of their retailers that try to sell for less. frankly, I don't know why it's allowed in NZ.

See: http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/788551

Extract:

"The restrictive trade practices provisions contained in Part IV of the (Trade Practices) Act—ss. 45 to 50A—prohibit the following types of anti-competitive conduct. However, some can be authorised or cleared by the ACCC.

Agreements affecting competition—these are prohibited if they have the purpose or effect of substantially lessening competition. Prohibited outright are:

-most price agreements

-agreements containing exclusionary provisions, commonly known as primary boycotts, that is, collective refusals to deal with another party.

Price fixing agreements between competitors may be authorised if significant benefit to the public can be established."

Car dealers are franchisees, not normal retailers per se. As such the price fixing rules doesnt apply same way when it comes to car dealers of the same brand because all the rights remain with Honda so there isn't competition. My understanding is it would be illegal for direct competitors to price fix, eg: Ford price fix with Holden. But Holden vs Holden is another matter as both dealers have exclusive right to a particular region (eg: west Sydney, south Sydney etc) as such car dealers cant be competitors with each other in the legal sense anyway.

Apple reseller are also franchsees so they by sorta bypass the price fixing laws too, even more so, apple wholesaler the goods to retailers at the retail rate, the reimburse the retailer the profit based on volume.

^^ Should I stand corrected? Can dealers fix prices with manufacturers/importers/distributors. Probably not. The franchise agreement is between franchisor and franchisee but nothing in the legislation covering franchises overrides the general prohibition in the Trade Practices Act on price agreements. And the evidence is also in the buying: You can shop around between different Honda dealers and get different prices for the same car.

I'm confused then, say if there's a nationwide driveway deal of say $17,999 for a Honda jazz for all dealers, or 2 KFCs selling zinger burgers at the same price, then Honda and KFC is breaching the TPA?
