4th Generation Oil Consumption

Does anyone experience any oil consuption on their 4th gen VTIR? I would say I have about 100ml every month to 2 months go out the back.

Im planning on fitting a catch can, as a few lines look fairly suspect at delivering a bit of oil to the intake at high rpm, although not sure if its prone to this type of loss. Anyone had this problem and found what it was?

It's what Honda calls 'normal operation' - 100ml is quite normal. You say every month - how many kms is that? I go through about 250ml per 5000km normally.

i don't lose any oil at all.... Have you tried different types of oil ?

you should get it checked out.. it maybe a leak somewhere.. probly the cam seals or soemthing like that because ive had the same problem with mine but didnt leak as bad just slightly.. so i was luckly able to get it fixed without changing it. roughly how much is 100ml from the dipstick indicator from high to low?

Its probably less than 250ml per 5000km, but not that much less. Theres no signs of leakage on the outside, thats why I was pretty sure its going out the exhaust, either by oil mist into the intake or through seals in the engine into the combustion chamber.

depending on how much you hit vtec, its prety normal for some oil consumption, your paranoid like i am... i overheard this guy with a 4th gen asking the same question at the Honda dealers and the service manager said its quiet normal and comparing to say even a s2000 he said with every 5000km oil change the oil can go from high to low on the dipstick.
