So i drive a 1999 integr gsi

The sunroof stopped working it makes a clicking sound everytime i press the "open" button
IF i press the "close" button nothing happens
I checked the fuses
I sprayed some WD40 and tried moving it around tried checking he rails as best i can
but from what i have learnt i think its an aftermarket sunroof no idea what else i can do
Any help would be appreciated
P.S Would it be better to take it to a Mechanic or a Auto Elecrician?

Sounds like the motor is gone

I think the motor is gone too. Check the log books for the company that installed it? they might be able to help you, may even have some warranty.

It might not be the motor but the sunroof switch, let us know how it goes...

A switch is easy to replace, just buy from eBay

There isnt any mention of it being installed by a company
but i read the manual and it says the sunroof switch is located on the right side of the dash under the air vent
but mine is located on the roof in front of the rear view mirror so i presume it was after-market
i got a mate coming over on Wednesday to have a look at it
Lets hope he can shed some light on it

Yeap you definately have an aftermarket sunroof, let us know if this gets resolved as I'm having the same problem too...

omgshh im having the same problem wif my dc2.
did u find a solution for it yet ? mines making the clicking sound when i open my sunroof too =/
kinda getting use to it now but if theres a solution, that wuld be great :D

Mine doesnt even open , I'm popping down to an auto electrician before the weekend ill let you know what they say !

So today while driving my sunroof started opening and closing by itself
and so far now its working fine
No idea what i did
or what caused it to start working but it is for now!

dud wiring, maybe something is shorting? check out the switch
