There are a number of things that you can do to a euro. There is a massive amount from after market manufacturers. Check put Jdmyard they have heaps of parts.

Performance:
Intake: CT-E Icebox intake $275 AUD shipped (best of both worlds between CAI and SRI)
Header: cheap option/OBX $300 Shipped approx. good quality: CT-E approx $800 shipped approx
Catback/Exhaust: Whatever, get a twin outlet one... allow $500-1000
OIL: change to something full-syn, 5w30.
Auto Trans: Flush 2-3 times with the new Synthetic ATF-DW1...

Suspension/rear Swaybar/Strut bar: probably need to be done since CL9 handling is a bit soggy allow approx $300 for sway bar, $150-200 for front strut bar, $1-1.5k for suspension.

i think its best if you tell us what direction u wanna take the car.. then people can suggest mods. otherwise you will end up spending heaps of cash, and not really having a car that looks or goes right.

i want the car to sound nice.
i would also like to lower the car, and i am very fussy i dont want the car to be an um comfortable ride once its lowered.

thats basically the criteria to work with.

Define "sound nice". A fart can can make it loud and buzzy, but you'll look like a complete t**t, and if the car is an auto it's just more... t**ty

Else you'd probably want to go the Intake/Header/Exhaust path... get a weapon-r race header or something, those are extremely loud,

Yeah sound nice can mean different things to different people, but you can youtube clips of injen intakes and fujitsubo legalis r catback or apexi WS2 catback (the one I was gonna get)

IMO the fujitsubo legalis r is too quiet. I had maxim work headers/hi-flo cat and the fujitsubo and was disappointed on how quiet it was but that's just me.

As to address your "sound nice" we clearly need more info, ill try help you out with lowering.

You have a few options when lowering, but these all depend on what you want and how low you want to go and spend.

1. Springs - I personally have no experiance with these as I never when down this path. But from what I have read/heard lowered springs reduce the life of your stock struts and can cause a potentially bumpy ride.

2. Matched springs and shocks - A step up from the above, can often provide you with a quite good ride quality and a reasonable drop. However, in my opinion is not the best value for money.

3. Coilovers - What I currently have on my car, once again in my opinion, the best options for the Euro, greatly improves handeling as will the above due to the stiffer bump and rebound rate. Often allow at least hight adjustability (Lower spring perch or lower perch on the body depending on the design). Most mid ranged coilovers (Buddyclub N+/Tien Super Street etc) provide both spring rate and height adjustment as well as dampener adjustment. I have N+ and when I had it on a "soft" setting 8/15 front and 10/15 rear, I found the ride to be quite comfortable, but noticably stiffer than stock.

4. Bags - Best if you wanna go for both super slammed and driveability, often can make for a very confortable ride, this will be at the higher end of the money scale. But they pretty much speak for themselves.

Just FYI - you cant really go wrong soundwise by getting an Injen CAI or just removing the resonator from the stock intake system.

Hope that helps.
