Hey guys,

Purchased some aftermarket tail lights for my FD1. The inside pair (with reversing and tail lamps) are easily removed, but am stumped on removing the outer pair (with brake and indicator lamps. There is 3 nuts which i have undone, seems like it should just pull out...but no luck...seems like something still holding it in there.

Any tips on how to remove without snappin somethin??

cheers!

if i can remember, you need to take the rear bumper off because there is another screw just under the taillight behind the bumper.

Remove bumper.

I did not remove my bumper to do this and you dont have to. If your looking to remove the bumper follow these steps and theres like 2 clips under the bumper that you have to remove and it will come off.
DIY- Tail light removal. Approximate time- 30 minutes.
Step 1- Using a flathead screwdriver remove these 3 plastic screws.

Step 2- Pull out the plastic pieces that the screws went in.

Step 3- Pull back the carpeting.

Step 4- Remove the wire harness that connects to all of your bulbs.

Step 5- Remove the 4 bolts that are holding the tail light in. The plastic piece on the 1 bolt that connects to the wire harness will pull right off.

Step 6- Next your going to have to loosen your bumper to get under the tail light. There are 4 screws that you are going to have to remove and your going to need a real short philips screwdriver to remove them.

Step 7- Then remove this Allen head bolt.

Step 8- You are then going to have to pull your bumper away from your car so that it releases from the clips. You can then reach this screw under the tail light. It is the last thing that is holding the light in.

Step 9- You can now pull the light out, you will have to repeat the steps on the other side to remove the other light. Again if you are looking to completely remove the bumper there are 2 clips under the bumper that need to be removed and it will come off.
I hope this helps, if you need any further information i am sure that i can provide it for you.
