Sounds nice - I've thought of getting one myself. I'd be interested to hear your impressions of it ... that's if your gf will let you drive it!! ;)
I'm not sure you will hear a lot of support for them round here though. Most people seem bitter that the Type-R is no longer available.
Personally I like the Type-S better than the (DC5) Type-R we got here in Oz, and I'd rather have the Type-S than a Type-R that wasnt really a Type-R. An LSD and those Recaros would have been nice though... :D

I wish they never released that DC5R. ruined the name.

yeh i noticed that there is no more advertising for the Type-R and they taken it off the website. Are we going to get anything to replace it ? eg an RSX or are we stuck with the Type-S, theres nuttin wrong with type-s i love it but i like the ITR body and power and stuff ?

Umm RSX is an integra... Its just renamed for Acura. The reason i dislike the new Type S is because it feels like we have gone back a step.. Sure the Type R we got wasn't the real deal but something in my head keeps informing me that we got jipped.
Its all about brand name :D its going to take ppl a while to get over it.

i've driven many type S's before cos of the PD checks i do on them! and they sound very nice for a stock car!! and they have refined suspension!, cos apparently the DC5R had crappy suspension! but a type S looks nice but yeah i wouldn'y of mineded the LSD and recaros too but as for the front and rear lights i love em!

Type S puts out more power than the DC5R 153kw...and has more luxury features...so better for daily driver...since the type R and the prelude are no longer apart of the honda model range...the type S was designed to be a luxury sports car...to replace both the DC5R and the prelude
hail the DC2R..thats what you call a real sports car :honda:

i did test drive it before i let my gf put a deposit on the car.
performance wise, depends what you are really talking about, i only had a short drive in that car, but it was pretty amazing. we had 4 people in the car, and it was going prettty... well... faster than my jazz with no passengers
seats come standard with semi buckets, full leather interior
2 more days until we go pick it up
can't wait :D
only thing that we didn't really like is the spoiler, it makes a car abit more girly, which kinda made my gf wanting it more. but we're going to consider a GT or look for 2nd hand R wing

wats a hondata???????????
industrie

hondata is a program for the ECU...where it overrides the factory ECU settings to which allows you to adjust the settings for the engine for maximum performance and efficiency in terms of fuel, etc..james who owns the turbo black CRX supplies the product in australia and he tunes them...its great for vtec engines and will give the car more power..its moderately expensive..you can find his contact on the forums somewhere...

no point in getting a VAFC if the car is stock/close to stock. if u want something to wank over, get the RSM. looks pretty much the same, but does different readings :D
if u change the vtec crossover points without ignition timing adjustments, you wont notice any power increase, but probably a decrease in power.

it weights slightly more due to the lurxury's you get.
(No "Defamatory comments". Please keep your personal attacks to your self. In future please read our T+C) you well know your car itself is not the real type R..its just a toned down version of it with recaro's...if you want a real type R get the DC2R..since australia suks balls and doesnt deliver the good stuff here...
whether its a the JDM dc2r or aus spec its still better than the DC5R in all area's
damn dude....
thems be fightin' words......
dont need to get so worked up....

no flame guys...
i've never driven ITR, but there will be a ITS in the garage at the end of today, so...
how to mod?
:D
Why do you want to mod a brand new car? Have you pushed it to its full potential already? I did not find out the full potential of my car until I took it to the track...
Anyway if you really want to mod, they say the best thing to do it flywheel, intake, headers, and exhaust. When that's all in, that's when you should get an ECU to tune it.

seems like a big job by just the sounds of it. get onto your insurance company. it may be cheaper to pay your excess to get the damage repaired.

marry soon m8 so i cant say much, she seem to be a good driver on my 32gtr, but I dont know wth happen to her and this car.
Ill wait till a get a few more post in here then Ill make up my final.
it must hurt even if you do love her....:D brand spanker what can you do
Insurance is usually the easiest solution, pending your excess
You could possibly call the dealer or the service centre at honda and see what mechanic they recommend and get a quote

Congrats on the purchase. Type S is a kick-arse car. I've done nearly 7,000 km in mine and it's just getting better. The engine and gearbox are a bit tight at first, but break her in gently for the first 1,000 and she'll be purrin' like a kitten.
With the spoiler, keep in mind that the Type S stock spoiler is mounted in such a way that Honda had to drill several holes in the bootlid. So replacing it with a 2nd hand Type R wing may not be too straightforward. You'll need to fill in those holes. Pain in the arse, I agree... the stock spoiler is a bit ghey :p

well by the look of it, its going to take a bit of time for her ITS to run in, shes only done 100K on it waiting for that 1K break and service
pharley have you tried undoing the spoiler? we thought it was just easy off. my gf is already asking me to look for a GT spoiler, not the aluminium ones.
if the type S spoiler can fit on my car... i m interested in buyin it off u ,.. that is if u wanna sell it

02-02-2005, 08:18 PM
No, haven't tried removing the stock spoiler. But I can't make any mods to my ITS as it's a company vehicle. But I've seen the schematics for the car and there's definately a couple of holes (can't remember how many, but at least 2).
That's why an optional spoiler (identical to the spoiler on the pre-facelift Special Edition Integra - see pic) is available ONLY for the Luxury model - not Type S. Honda can't remove the stock one and bolt another one on because the holes would be exposed.

tell your gf that gt wings are a defect for 'safety reasons'
yeah it's bullshit i know but i'm sure she doesnt wanna be getting pulled over just for a wing:thumbdwn:
if you STILL want one then go with C-WEST
I'm actually heading to my Honda dealer next week to Tee Up a new ITS under lease/salary sacrifce thru work.
I had a DC2R, Skyline, and Series 6 RX-7, but the R was the best of them all. It came down to looking at either an MY05 WRX or Type-S, decided to go with the S.
I will miss the Recaro goodies, but I do like the leather buckets in the S.
As for the DC5-R, well ok, it MAY have spelt the end for the "Type-R" branding of the Integra range, and yeah, in the begining I hated the shape, but the DC2 shape was years old, and towards the end of 03 - I actually didn't mind the DC5 shape at all.
So yeah .. next week (fingers crossed) I'll be back hitting VTAK :) lol

I reckon just take the wing off, go to a panel shop, patch up the holes, and be done with it.
Seein more n more Tegs without wings, looks heaps better.
GT Wings on FWD asthmatics isn't a good thing..
