Hey guys, I am from Perth, WA. I bought my 2011 Honda Accord Euro on the 28th of February 2011 for $41.690 and they told me i will get my car in 5 days time. I paid the minimum deposit and went on my way, The very next day the honda website advertised it for $40.690. I called the dealership immediately and told them of it. They then told me that there was nothing they could do about it because the contract was signed in february and this was a march special. I then contacted honda australia and they told me they wont get involved with the dealership's business. I told them i cant get any help from the dealership, they then told me to contact the dealer principle. That is were i am at the moment. I took delivery of the car on the 4th of march and paid the balance on the car.The website clearly says, on vehicles purchased and delivered between 01/03/11 and 31/03/11. I just feel like they scammed me for an extra $1000. What do u guys think? Thanks in advance for your help.

You did the deal 1 day too early lol.

You should have contested/ appealed the deal to the Dealer Principal BEFORE taking delivery of the car.

Case closed.

Lesson be learned. You probably didn't bargain hard enough to begin with.

As far as I'm concerned once you pay the deposit it's a commitment to the deal and they not entitled to give you any refund at all. You didn't get scammed simply because you agreed to pay the price!

if you were in the right then I could say to the dealer after 6 months.

"ey, you scammed me, 6 months later you come out with a series 2? better and cheaper?"

contract signed, deal is done. unless there is a cooling off period.

but you've taken delivery. live and learn mate. life is long.

That's the whole point of signing a deal, and paying a deposit. They could dock 10k off the price the next day, and your only recourse would be to abandon the deal and forfeit your deposit. Once you've signed, you've both committed.

My feeling is that you didn't get it cheap enough to begin with.

[QUOTE=Shameeth;2978699]Hey guys, I am from Perth, WA. I bought my 2011 Honda Accord Euro on the 28th of February 2011 for $41.690 and they told me i will get my car in 5 days time. I paid the minimum deposit and went on my way, The very next day the honda website advertised it for $40.690.

Congrats mate for your car purchase. First of all did you purchase a manual Euro lux or auto lux? If you have purchased Lux Euro in manual, yes you lost 1k and if you bought lux Auto, you have saved around close to 2k.

As per Honda website the 40690 advertised price is for HOnda Accord Euro Manual model and Auto is for 43465 with metallic paint.

Hope this help.

purchased and delivered, the whole reason for these deals is so dealerships can get rid on idle stock in their yards. its a dam nice car, enjoy it.

Like all things....you paid at a time and the price invariably dropped. Oh well get over it !

That 1k could've been 6months fuel lol.

At least I learnt a thing or 2 from this thread

Yeah, I meant to say before: Congratulations on your purchase, and don't worry about it. I mean, you didn't get ripped off. It's a very nice car!

if you contested it BEFORE you took delivery of the car and it was within the first week - i would say that consumer protection would have sided with you

but if you left it till it was too late and already paid and took delivery of the car than its just too bad

most retail places will give you the difference back within a certain period - but if you are signing a contract than its probably a different story
