I'm swapping my single carb for the twin keihins. I have a set from a d15b4 and have taken them mostly apart for cleaning before putting them in. I assume/hope Honda sells rebuild kits for these with the seals and stuff. I also assume that it will be pretty pricey. Will be calling on Monday. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other places that might sell an equivalent sort of thing for a bit cheaper?

Also, since I'm swapping the intake manifold, do places like repco have suitable gaskets and if so, are they up to scratch? thanks

nah man. They're the twin carbs that Civics came with. If you've got a d15b it should have them I think. Should say keihin on top. I have a breeze which has a d15z with only a single carb. The twin setup is much more tunable so I'm changing. Some guys have fit Webers and other bands. Most have had to modify the intake manifold. Check out this thread if you want more info. http://www.d-series.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1416

The twin carbs is more tunable?? hmm... well, i already have the header changed, a custom ewxhaust pipework and a 2.25 cannon with a K&N air filter element.... thinking of a short ram or a CAI but thinking which is better... but till now, performance has been rather disappointing... so maybe you n me should keep in touch and discuss the possibilites of making our rides faster... :P can drop me a email at adriansim@gmail.com and let us discuss the possible mods. :)

cheers
Adrian

D15Bs got the twin Keihin bike carbs (as did the EB Mugen motors except they got 4, not 2). Honda Au should be able to hook you up with a rebuild kit for them as they came on the Aussie ED and EG Civics.

BTW - 2x twin throttle Webbers > 2x single throttle Keihins any day of the week and twice on Sundays :)

Yeah that'd be nice, but ease of installation? Unless I can get an intake manifold so they bolt on, I cbf at this stage. Especially with only the 1.5 sohc. I'll give you a yell uncouth.

Let me know how you go with the rebuild. My carbies on my civic behave a bit weird. seems like they are running a little rich. There is a carbie specialist shop in sydney that may have an aftermarket rebuild kit. Give them a call http://www.carburettorservice.com.au/
