Hey guys,

I need help deciding what brand mods i should get in my EM1.
I currently got a full Spoon Cat-back and that's just about it, but yeah.. i'm not too sure what brand Cold Air Intakes or Headers should i slap on.

So far i've thought of this;

CAI:
- Injen
- AEM
- BMC

and Headers (421):
- DC Sports
- Greddy

any clues guys?

haha would love to have a injen, just a little too expensive for me plus im scared of my car getting hydroed.
Iv got a short ram intake and getting a custom head shield box soon.
Iv got 5zigen headers, came with the car i guess its good enough for daily :).

yeah hydro lock..

@ JDM yard they're selling a hydro coat.. or what ever its called. It's like a rain coat for the poddie.. but yeah.. im scared of hydro lock as well, espesh since we get pretty heavy rain in AUS.

you know if the rain coat is adequate? Will it really prevent hydro lock?

My suggestion, Injen CAI and TODA or SSR/DTR street sweepers as extractors.

lol !

there is actually a funnier one, animated that i saw someone use years ago..

i mean, its quite simple...

its amazing what you can find on google, and there are so many honda forums. chances are, the question you have, someone has asked it before.

and its just laziness.... search -----> comes up with 10 pages -----> oh no 10 pages, i dont wanna go through all of them. ill just post a thread.

i am guilty of asking some stupid questions, but i always search before i did.

but since then, ive learnt alot about hondas.

Didnt mean to take anything out on ya. That's why I made the point of myself asking stupid questions.

And you will learn so I give you credit. I get I took frustration out on other threads on yours.

No need to apologize... But it is best to ask questions..

If you go Toda, the b series header fits all

My friend has a 5zigen header for b16 for sale dude... They are good bang for buck

Any B16 header.

5Zigen are about $400-600 depending on if new/used and condition.

And Fujita, Injen, AEM are all good intakes but not worth the big $ if you ask me. I'd go the Fujita via Ebay for a better price compared to local options and because I like their products but I've done DIY intakes too and haven't noticed any difference.

and if you buy from ebay usa youll prob save up to 50 - 100 if your lucky.

yeah.. WEKSOS has the Injen CAI for 250.

but the thing is, I heard that Injen used to/ still manufactures with AEM. and i've heard that AEM has had cracking problems. =S

the last thing i would wna put in my car, is something that's gna break anyway. =='

Other than that, I haven't heard too much compaints. Mostly Satisfied customers.

hows the clearance on the 5zigen header?
idk, if DC sports would be a better option tho.

CRXDEL501

5zigen has good clearance.
I'd go that over dc
Injen intakes are great

JDMBOY - yeah it is faily driven. X-force is alright, I used to have an X-force exhaust but changed it to spoon.. sounds so much better. More unique sound and better lower end speed.

CRXDEL501 - where's this? on their actual website? the US one?

For clearance?

They are 4-2-1...they should b good

Don't get dc2r headers... Replacing stock parts from another stock car is just stupid

As for dc, some have been said to crack

yeah.. i saw no point either. n the DC2R headers are meant for a 1.8L engine.. so wouldn't the clearance on that be really bad? My cars pretty low alrdy.. i dont want something hanging evn lower. =='

yeah i heard cracking from DC Sports.. but thats with their ceramic coated product. Apparently its because its US made.. the JDM made headers are said to be better, but are 4-1. =='

Isn't Injen owned by AEM? I heard bad stories abt AEM. several faults, including crackings and not abiding to warranties. =='
but as for Injen themselves.. i havnt heard anyfin bad so far.

Japspeed 4-1 headers any good?

SuperJDM.
05-04-2011, 10:02 PM
i think people only got 4-1 only if your car is really high powered and often used on tracks?

mugen_ctr
05-04-2011, 10:40 PM
4-1 for maximum flow, 4-2-1 for a daily

Headers will alter ur power band so watch what u put on, if its a daily, stick to 4-2-1, u wont notice much bog, but on a 4-1, it saps ur torque down low

im using Weapon R Short Ram intake (currently on sale) ...never had issues, flows great and better than some others that i have used i.e. injen, AEM, etc.

for headers im using DC SPorts SS 4-1 with a 2.5in collector - if flows great, and makes the car rev to redline without any hesitation. Ground clearance is great too, considering my EM1 is lowered and never scrapped the headers. havent seen any cracks but i heard thats only with the ceramic coated - mine is SS.

i have tried XFORCE in the past 4-2-1 and they work as well, but not as high flowing as the DC SPORTS 4-1.

both Weapon R & Headers looks sexxy in the bay too! LOL.

My old em1 setup:

Simota Whale Penis + Custom fabricated intake box @ Westside Exhaust = 550$
5Zigen for 4-2-1 header = 545$ @ member from ozhonda
Custom cat throughout to tip 2.2" (cant remember) = 400$ @ SureFlo Exhaust
B18cr Trottle Body = 180$ @ HonBits Smithfield

And the Vtec screams! No joke my parents hear me coming home 3 streets away lol. (cop shit for downgearing around conners)
