Hey guys. Purchasing some Stern Rims. They are 17x9 +39 and 17x8 +34. What tyres do you guys think will clear the guard on a moderately lowered S?

Easiest / biggest fit: 225/40/17F 255/35/17R
Easiest: 215/35/17F 235/35/17R
Biggest: 245/35/17F 265/30/17R or 265/35/17R

Just guesstimates.

35 profile is too thin, save that for 18's

Front's will need a roll no matter the tyre size you run, however if you wish not to roll it maybe run 215/45 and see how you go.

Rears if you are happy to roll you can run 255/40 if you do not wish to roll run some 235/40's

roll guards that is.

With those wheels, you should be able to run 215/45 (F) and 245/40 (R) comfortably, perhaps with minor negative camber (-1.0 to -2.0). You might get away with 225/45 on the front, but any greater and you'll need some guard modifications. A 255 wide section on the rears will probably require guard modifications with a 9 +39 wheel. Forget about 265 without guard mods.

Interesting read. I don't mean to hijack, but if I have 9" wide +55 wheels on the rear, lowered 1", would 265 tyres fit without guard mods? The 245s at the moment are fine

Would I need some extra neg camber? I have -1 deg extra at the moment
