Apologise for my writing as this is my virgin review. Please enjoy!

I was getting bored the other day, as I was wondering around on the internet, I bumped into this guy's blog. It's a Japanese car ethusiast blog called carview, he owns a EP3 as well and he had listed all his mods along with some photos. Anyways, to cut things short, I saw he listed one of his mods as the Sard high flow cat, which really got me curious. After few weeks of researching and asking around, I finally bought one. Although, I was very worried that it might not fit on the EP3, since Sard only makes one for DC5. But it was such a relief when my mechanic from BEL got it on perfectly. By the way, I have the Fujitsubo RM-01A catback.

The Sard hi-flo cat comes with the 2-1 section, so basically you are getting a a whole brand new 2-1 section of the exhaust manifold. It's very much like the version that Spoon and Vision technica sells, but this time with a cat instead of the resonator. The piping size is larger than stock version I think they are 54-60. It's lighter than the stock item, my guess is around 5kg weight saving. The fit was pretty straight forward, but they made it slightly shorter somehow so you do need to use a bit of force to pull the cat and the catback together. I have been driven with these for about 5,000k, no engine light so far.

Performance wise, I noticed the engine can rev more freely and the rev goes up a little faster. Throttle response has improved fair a bit, as it's more sensitive somehow after the cat was fitted. There is definitely an increase in loudness, the sound at idle is more noticeable in the car. In addition to the extra loudness, there is a metallic rasp in the exhaust now when throttle is pressed. Kinda sounds like the E46 M3, hehe.

Sorry about the quality of picture.

How much did the cat cost you? And how much did BEL charge to install?

The cat costed me something close to 1k plus $150 for shipping. I cant really remeber how much they charged me but it was around $80.

lol, I will swap ya! Fuji RM is good, Mugen is very good too. I was tossing up between these two but I settled on Fuji cuz of the price.

the fuji is has more gains than the mugen twin loop. the mugen twin loop is very restrictive and it has alot of bends thanks to the extra loop that doesnt help with exhuast flow.

Thanks for the vid btw man.

I wouldnt say it's very restrictive. I think for the exhaust mods I have now, Mugen and Fuji should have a minimal difference.

Fair enough, but no difference in terms of low end, mid to high range made a difference only because Mugen has a smaller diameter piping. Plus the DC header has a 63.5 final section, I am sure if they managed to get a 5 hp difference with the DC, the difference will be smaller for what I have.
