Hi guys,
I just wanted to know if anyone here knows much about putting in a k20z type R engine from FN2 into a FD2 sports?
Would it be a direct fitment in terms of engine mount location, crossmember etc, drive shafts, brakes?

Theres one guy atm selling a front cut of a fn2R and im really considering it..
includes;
- drive shaft
- brakes
- crossmember
- k20z engine block, gearbox, manifold.
- engine wiring harness
- ecu plus ignition barrel
- airbox
- shifter link
- red stitching steering wheel
- type r gear knob
- engine mounts

Any help would be much appreciated!!

civic sport has k20z2 puts out 114kw,

where FN2R has k20z4 which puts out 148kw..

a mechanic told me that on a NA honda, 1kw gain would cost you around $100

so according to him only do it if it will cost you $3500 for everything fitted and running

dont shoot the messenger lol

yerp but they've got the k20z2 which is about

Power 114kW @ 6200rpm
Torque 188Nm @ 4200rpm

whereas fn2r has a k20z4 which is about

Power 148kW @ 7800rpm
Torque 193Nm @ 5600rpm

but uh im not sure about fitting this in maybe be able to but will probably need a different ecu

trying to get 34kws out of a fd sports motor is no easy feat.

Intake, headers, exhaust, cams, ecu etc...

to the OP

get a K24 engine out of a euro and a EP3 or DC5R motor and chuck it in

Hey Benny,

Would you only need block + mounts + ecu if doing FD Swap?

So i guess its more worth it on a FD1 vti with R18 engine then?

on an FD1, u'll need to change the subframe. Cos the K20 sits on a different subframe as opposed to the R18, I've been considering to do the swap last time (cos FD1 doesnt have sunroof) but cant be bothered now. LOL

It's hardly worth touching the FD :(
Good luck though.

I'm sure some differences of the k20z2 - k20z4 will be transferrable... How different could they be :S

Modproject did the FN2R swap not long ago on a FD Civic

Maybe you can ask them for some advice if you're from Melbourne.

man all that money and effort for 130kw atw...

Just buy a stock fn2r or turbo the r18! so much easier than turbo'ing the k20
