hey guys i been told that a guy who owns a GSi can rev to 8000RPM on a stock engine with no internals worked... he claims he can rev to 8000RPM because he has changed his fuel injector needles to a bigger size and also a high flow cat.. is this true?? besides that he has done cold air and full sports exhaust system.. the GSi is pretty quick from what ive heard it can take on V8s... but in conclusion is it possible to rev to 8000RPM by just changing the injector needles and a high flow cat.. please let me know.. also he says that he gaining power at the same time.. while it reaching the 8 grand mark.. so can some body please confirm..b

Bigger injectors + highflow cat doesn't = car can rev up to 8000rpm

Total BS same with he can take on V8's...

Whats next u gonna believe an accord euro can rev to 8000 rpm with simple bigger injectors and a high flow cat...

Standard Euro the redline is 7000 rpm and the cutoff is at 7300 rpm....

you would have to modify the valve train, example, springs, retainers and I dont think the stock cams would be producing power up there either.

out of interest

whats a good point to shift at for a GSi with the B18B

all the way to redline or earlier?

peak power is 6300rpm

but i normally shift in red just before limiter

Why the hel would you wanna rev it out to 8000rpm????? it's not making power by that stage in the rev range! and you tell the guy who owns that car we all said he talks BS big time! I bet he takes on V8's and keeps up with them by 8 car lengths LOL :D

the only way the raise the limiter would also be with a aftermarket ECU or a piggy back comp
just changing the parts like injectors and Cold air intake would not stop the limiter holding the car back anywayz
also i don't think a GSi would be able to handle 8000rpm unless there are internal mods for the engine

Same.......shift at redline (you can shift a little after it hits the redline) or just before the rev limiter.

Practise and learn where your limiter is ;)

you can change the rev limit in ROM, with stock ecu without add ons :)

I wont even pretend i know about the GSi tegs.

But i have no doubt he could beet v8's... My mate has a HQ Holden V8 Ute with a 308 in it... my lude absolutely thrashes its ass, no doubt, every time, the thing is absolutely gutless.. Alot of the 1970's and 60's v8's can be taken down no problems by modern small 4 cylender engines.

yes but fear a worked V8,

i think the owner of the gsi must be talking strokes per minute(pullin himself) and not rpm, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIS INTERNALS AFTER DOIN THAT FOR A WHILE, as for the v8s i do agree with taking on the older v8 is easy, but if were talking gen 3 v8 i would bother unless you got boost or a type r of its ****
