So I have an ED Civic with a standard D15B4, and was wondering if I bolted a D16 VTEC head (D16Y1) on to that, will the dual carb set up off the D15 bolt up to this head? Yes I am aware its not the best thing to do, and I'll have to wire something up to make the VTEC engage and what not, but the engine is coming out anyway and I can get this head for quite cheap, my simple question really is just will it work? I've searched around a bit and found a similiar situation, except with a D15 VTEC head which did work here (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?28627-first-d15b-sohc-vtec-dual-carb.), so I'm guessing it will, just thought it would be best to check.

youll need an electric fuel pump because the stock head has a mechanical pump on it, obviously changing the heads will delete this.

other than that you should be sweet.

I've driven one before, wasn't bad. What you would expect from a regular MPFI 1.6 D series.

not trying to jack this thread sounds really interesting.. but what about an Integra 1.8 zc with the dual carbs fitted? are they a bolt on fit? for ed civic?

There's no such thing as a 1.8L ZC, so i doubt you could bolt the carbs to your wishful thinking.

whats the 1.8 twin cam engine in the aussie da integras? i just assumed zc as it physicllly looked the same? or are people tricking saying there 1.8?

having said that what about a zc 1.6 with carbs?

The 90-93 models had a B18. The 86-89 Integra had a D16a1/a3 or the browntop ZC. The SOHC intake manifolds don't fit on the DOHC heads.

I thought about doing it but didnt end up selling my CRX and decided to keep the ol B16a Beast, Curse this love hate relationship.

Still keen to try and do it down the track, if i get a Dead ED Hatch with Carbie's will be doing it for sure
