Hi guys,
Just after some advice regarding a few things about the possible build.
For those with the experience, what compression you guys were able to run safely on normal street petrol (98RON) on a k24a3?
The car has to be reliable and not shorten the longevity of the engine. On k20a.org, the guys were running 12.5:1 on 93 octane in the USA, which is about 98RON?
For those who have had work done to their engines by a reputable Honda engine builder, how much would it cost to install cams, valvetrain, rods, pistons and tune?
Are there any good reputable builders in Sydney for the k24?
Ive PM's TodaAU a few times, but he is probably too busy to reply to me or something. I havent had time to call him in person, but are there any other places that you guys can recommend?
Appreciate the help guys!

If your planning on pump fuel best bet would to leave stock comp 10:5. I guess it also depends on what your trying to achieve.
OEM block can make up too 160-170kw. Of course a few little additions will be needed to make it reliable.

Thanks for your reply fatboyz39.
I have the usual I/H/E (comptech intake, maximwork header, buddyclub custom mid-pipe 2.5in). I have hytech specII cams at home and CP 12.5:1 87mm pistons at home.
The pistons i would sell and depending on what might be safe to run as CR, i will go 87.50mm maybe supertech or mahle pistons if available.
I know its probably a bit silly to be doing all the parts, but my car is an auto...:(
Its a daily and my fiance needs to be able to drive it as well otherwise we'd need another car.

Guys, if the compression is 12.5:1 on k24a block with k20 head. Would the compression be the same on my setup with k24a head and k24a block?
I thought that it would be same as the k20a and k24a head are quite similar. Could someone please clarify?
Ive been searching and reading, and some people were saying that the compression with k24a head/block would be higher... they said the stroke is longer, but since the block is the same (k24), then wouldnt the stroke and consequently the CR be the same regardless?

Geez thats alot of money. Im still waiting for TODA AU to send me a rough quote for installation and tune with k-pro.
I have k24a3, supertech 12.5:1 pistons, eibach valvesprings and retainers and saving up for rods (leaning towards carrillo H-beams)
Im hoping 10k was including all the parts and the extra engine work as well. How much was labour for installation? It cant be thaaat expensive....otherwise I might as well sell the parts and get a supercharger lol

The supercharger kit is 5000 from US plus shipping and iirc it's a bolt on kit.

Yeah i know man. I've been reading about stuff for months lol.
The supercharger with their stock flash will probably just get me about 220whp. Then upgrading injectors, pulleys and then k-pro, the price becomes even more :s
I dont like the whine on s/c so thats another reason why i went n/a.

Yeah i know. Problem is, i think i would have to lose the aircon in order to fit. The Euro is a more of a family "sportish" sedan, so losing out on a/c was a definite no no for me :)

How much has others paid for the install of cams, valvetrain, bores honed, pistons and rods?
How much for tuning?
Just want a rough idea so i know how much to budget for it :)

Too many variables, 2-3k labour plus parts and any specific machine cost. Beat is for you to get quotes and work out which one best suits you.

Parts i already have except rods, chain tensioner and valves (possibly).
Just want a rough idea regarding cost of the install and tune.
Its gonna be hard to budget for the car when theres also a mortgage coming up :(

Hondata itself is $1500 plus.
Labour I think will be 2-3000 ontop of reflash/tune.
You are looking at 4-5 grand.

If you're really worried about your mortgage, you wouldn't and shouldn't get things done. I would make sure I have at least 5k minimum before starting the project. I would just spend the money on fitting the cams, valve springs, tensioner and getting the thing tuned.

Yeah but thats all that im doing. Mortgage isnt a big issue, but it justs tightens up the budget thats all.
Hopefully Toda AU can send me a rough quote.
