Welcome!
Firstly you will have to get your car "roadworthy" which is a certificate you get when someone inspects your car and verify's that it is safe to drive. It also depends which state you will be living in, for now ill assume your in QLD.
A roadworthy inspection mainly covers the major safety related items:
* wheels and tyres
* steering, suspension and braking systems
* seats and seat belts
* lamps and reflectors
* windscreen, and windows including front windscreen wipers and washers
* the structure of the vehicle itself
* other safety related items on the body, chassis or engine.
Roadworthy certificates can cost around $100
For information regarding modifications to your vehicle i have provided a link for you to browse through. Hope you find what your looking for

Regarding registration:

If you could tell us your modifications we might be able to tell you what is legal and what isnt. Enjoy your stay!

I plan to have a K24 bottom end fitted, AEM fuel rail, 70mm throttle body, Skunk2 stage 2 cams, replace my ECU with a K-pro, Gruppe M induction kit and D2 coilovers.
I always take great care of it, police at home stop modified cars all the time and check for the slightest flaw they could book you for so its best to keep it perfect to save any bother! It had its yearly MOT on 2nd March (Irish vehicle inspection which is very strict) so hopefully it will pass the Australian examination!
Thanks for your help!

Wow, i see why you want to bring it here!
Im sure they would be more strict over in Europe due to the weather conditions over there. I haven't done most of those mods before so someone with a bit more experience than me could hopefully give some advice. For alot of mods though you need what is called a "mod plate" more info on that can be found in the link i gave you. Basically if you have an engine conversion or you wanna go through with the k24 bottom end conversion you will need a "mod plate" or "blue plate" i think is for engine conversions, correct me if im wrong someone. For aftermarket seats like Recaros you need a mod plate. They just verify that your mods are legal and safe to drive with.
When you do take your car for a "Road Worthy" inspection they will tell you anything that needs to be done to make the car road safe and legal. If it doesnt pass you can fix whatever needs to be done to your car and take it back within a certain period of time.
"Road worthy" certificates are also known as "Safety Certificates"...incase you get confused lol
