225 45 17
Thanks for the reply! If I'm running it on a stock and don't want to mess with coilovers just yet would I be better off with a smaller wheel wall? Or best to keep it at what you suggested?
Also Pirelli P7 or Kumho KU36? ...Or something completely different? No idea how to pick, only heard from the local wheel shops 'Pirelli is the best'

I use Toyo Proxes 4 and really happy with the performance. The tyre shop told you pirelli is best cause they have pirelli stock. All well known tyre brands are on par IMO, you get what you pay for. and IMO 225/35/r17 would look better.

35 is quite thin for 17s considering they run 55 profile on 16s. I like a bit of meat on my tyres. Also running 35 profile will throw your speedo out of sync a little.

For the type of tire, you really only need a good quality street tyre. There is no real point in getting a performance tyre when you dont need it.
Something like Dunlop FastResponse is quiet and I get good fuel economy.
Toyo Teo Plus I have on the ass end of my car and they have been on their since I bought the car two years ago. They are fairly good value also. It all depends where you go.
Each business has their preferred brand. Beaurepaires is owned by Dunlop/Goodyear and so if you were after them itd be cheapest there.

They had what I originally wanted in stock (Kumho KU31) but the guy said he'd still recommend Pirelli's as I'd be saving $$ too since he wouldn't up the price.
Anymore input? I've heard good things about Toyo Teo too - I'd hopefully want to keep it under $180 a tyre. (And yes, purely for street use/appearance)

For street use/cruising I'd go Pirelli, like the P-series (P6000 etc). Great sports/luxury tyre. Kumho KU31 is more of a street performance tyre, not as comfortable for daily use nor as much longevity I think.
And before anybody asks yes I've used both.
Comfortability is a must but since I haven't lowered it yet I don't want it to look too ........."ODD" - right now I feel every bump in the road (when its a bumpy road) on 225/16/35 I think ..?? (Can't see my car ATM)
