US towbar on AU Civic FD2

Hey guys,

I was hoping someone would be able to answer my question.

I can't seem to find a towbar in Australia/Sydney for a reasonable price. I found the one below on Ebay, VERY cheap, even after postage.

The seller cannot confirm if it fits the AU model. Can anyone clarify if it does? Does anyone know from experience? Thanks guys.

I got this from the instruction manual

"HONDA CIVIC INCLUDING Si / ACURA CSX (CANADIAN ONLY)"

Considering that statement, this tow bar will fit our FD since Acura CSX share the same chassis as FD.
If you can get the seller to guarantee that this tow bar will fit Acura CSX then you'll be fine.
Make sure they have safety certification and also check with your insurance company if they will cover this additional accessory just to be safe.

Thanks 'Pitiek' for you reply. I appreciate it. However I am unable to get the seller to 'guarantee' the fitment. He said he is not sure and that I have to confirm. I agree with you and the above statement that is should fit. I have also looked at the towbar closely, and underneath the car it appears to be ok as in it seems like it will line up (exhaust, heat shield, and moutning points) but not willing to have a $200 boat anchor if it doesn't.

Mate, chances are it will fit. It's not like Honda is going to go out of it's way to make the towbars different for each submodel..

If it fits the Acura CSX, it will fit the FD civic.
