Gear shifter noise

Hi,

I am hearing a noise coming from the shifter from the inside whenever I am getting into 4th, 6th or reverse. At first, it's hard to get into gear, and once it does, it sounds as if it hits a plastic wall. This is especially true when I try to getting into reverse. Can anyone help me out? Might as well mention that I changed the gear oil bout 3 months/2,000kms ago.

You might be hitting a plastic wall!

Seriously, I had trouble once staying in second and fourth. Turned out the plastic ring below the center console had dislodged and was oushing on the shifter.

Which is one of the things I wanted to ask u ;) How'd u resolve it?

Pulled the centre console and popped the plastic ring back into place.

Do u think this has much to do with the difficulty in getting into gear 4, 6 & reverse?

It's possible but if you haven't had the console off recently and you recently changed fluid I guess it is a long shot.
