Fcuk xforce, called them up and the b pipe and axle back for GD3 are now discontinued! That made me so mad ESP since custom piping cost more lol...

I am not sure how much for xforce, but if possible, try HKS exhaust. It isn't that loud and have a real good low voice.

By the way the HKS one doesnt need any modification, just un-screw, put the exhuast and screw it, DONE :) Perfectly Fit

They "used to" make one for a GD they "never" made one for a GE.

The most popular branded one I've heard of is the Kakimoto followed by the HKS. Both are direct bolt on. GD's seem to have more choices of exhaust than GE's. sighhh

anyone know if unbolting the axle back is illegal? i mean, the mufflers there to muffle the sound. and we all know that less sound = less girls. so i took it off and BAMBBQSAUCE, a much louder sound. i mean nothing over the top. its just right in my opinion. the girls love it too!...

but yeah, is that illegal?

GU357

i think its legally required to have a muffler there just put a few holes in it.

but what about taking off the axle back and get a straight pipe all the way through?

GU357
18-05-2011, 12:34 PM
yeh sure if u ever get pulled over just say that its technically the same as a performance exhaust, as it just lets it straight out, ie fully opened exhaust.

aslong as the DB isnt overboard, and it doesn't release more CO2 or w.e

edit: there is a chance that a straight pipe will be louder then no pipe tho because the muffler is there to absorb vibration so if there is no axle back it wont vibrate but if there is a straight pipe it might rattle like crazy

fillit
18-05-2011, 07:21 PM
straight pipe would be incredibly loud, and it is also illegal, you will get fined alot of money.

GU357
18-05-2011, 10:19 PM
cool so far as i can see the exhaust must leave the car so if u take off the axle back that illegal cos the exhaust is coming out from under the car but not away from it and it can heat stuff up and increase chance of fires, the exhaust must not extend anymore the 50mm away from the back of the car, if the exhaust doesn't poke out the back and comes out under the mudguard or something it requires a engineering certificate to say its safe (unless it was like that stock obviously).
so yes a axle back is required!
doesnt say anything abt muffling, so as long as its below the 96DB or w.e it is, and NO HOLES in the exhaust.

haha sorry man, but it had to be done. is there a way i could like... make it legal? i mean a straight pipe with a flange or something still wont work? or like mentioned before just stick some metal over the pipe to look like a muffler. anything?

do a straight pipe, but not too loud. of get the original and try cutting the tip of and making the hole like 3 inch and welding a piece of pipe there to replace the tip... that would still be legal.
even better get like a auto technica one for Super cheap and make a piece of pipe that expands to fit that and attach that instead :D

thats true, but some of the ones u buy just laying around will need to be attached properly so professional exhaust shop might be required and they can charge u alot
i went to one here in perth, he wanted to charge my $500 to attach an xforce muffler seemed kinda preposterous so i managed to find an axle back.

and theres some cool axle backs by megan racing on ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MEGAN-RACING-Axle-Back-Exhaust-Honda-FIT-JAZZ-06-07-08-/140484925784?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b58dd958) too, but the are abt 400+ due to shipping form the US

sdx91! zomgwtftomatosauce. it is an absolute beauty; almost sounds turbo if you ask me. take 10 minutes of your time. get a 13mm socket wrench(if i remember correctly) and undo the two bolts. take it around the block. i can assure you, you will be amazed at the difference. its a pretty LOL mod, and you will get some 'WTFTHATSAJAZZBRO' looks going down burwood road/ george street but even if you dont like it, its not that hard to get off and on. do it for me!

plus its just dead weight. you dont need the back seats or passenger side seat either... and the trimmings and linings. centre console and the spare tyre for that matter. but broo, strip the carpet and take off sound deadening (i reckon 70kg, mind you) and well, you need the dash to attract the girls, but im sure they would like the new mattress and roll cage you got installed instead. plus with all this dead weight gone, you can chuck in some subs to blow her clothes off. you seen italian job? DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF DOOOOOOOOOOOOF.

but yeah you know, just my 2 cents ;)

sdx91
24-05-2011, 01:38 PM

24-05-2011, 05:39 PM

theres heatshield there, depends i just changed my muffler to a very modest rumbling muffler but i forgot the dynamics of the under car. I think the b pipe ends just before the heatshield so some wil be protected but if anything it might melt some plastic under the car. just dont leave it in one spot running for long. ahaha.

hmm alright thanks. is that an axleback exhaust gu357? what brand and how much?

GU357
25-05-2011, 02:01 AM
yeh its an xforce axle back. the pipe is extra thick going into the muffler but it still fits a stock flange and bpipe, all of the xforce stuff is designed to fit the stock flange and be inter-changable. i bought it off fillit, i dunno if they still make them, i doubt it. but essentially its just a smaller muffler: half the width and two thirds the length. ill make a recording soon.

EG52NV
25-05-2011, 08:22 AM
FYI Mugen racing axle back is heavier then stock muffler, I was certainly surprised when I installed mine..

lol wow thats unexpected. gu does ur xforce muffler have a silencer?

GU357
25-05-2011, 02:20 PM
nope, its a semi open pipe.
so it still does some muffling but echos the sound out to a modest rumble, if i can find the video recorder on my phone ill upload it to youtube , but i dont think my phone has one.

that's mine except i only have the muffler and not the B pipe.

as it is they dont seem to make ones for the GD3, or at least they aren't on their computer data base.
but if u check the website or call em up and tell em where your from they can tell u where your nearest distributor is, and the distributor can make one up for you.
but i would imagine its around 500$ i went to a place before (not a distributer thoguh) and they wanted 500$ to put a muffler on and all they were going to do was cut of the orginial muffler and attach the cannon with some pipe that expanded on one side.

consider the big piping diameter..you will lose lots of back pressure...wont recommend for 1.5 jazz....but feel free to find out by yourself.

I have tried many exhaust set up...so far mugen titanium is the best in terms of sound & performance and weight saving.

GU357
13-06-2011, 03:26 AM
ehhh, the jazz has an ecu and can control it's fuel injection so back pressure isn't required, if anything it's better because it lets the car expel the exhaust gas faster and helps the engine rev freely
the whole thing about back pressure and torque would be more relevant to a car with carbies. Although too large of a exhaust can cause cackling and misfire... but u shouldn't have a problem.

sdx91
17-06-2011, 12:52 AM

WOW! I'm kinda Jelly D:
very sexy! hows the sound?
im affraid it will sound too loud and cackly to go for such a large sized one with such little muffling.

In regards to the bolts u just have to really squeeze em I'm afraid, or if u have a blow torch heat em up a bit and squish em a tad, will weaken them.
I used a rattle gun and just pushed it, however my car was jacked up and the rear wheels off the ground so it was a bit roomier.

possibly, but it would most likely be a vibrating sound because the springs arent there.
it might be leaking and that could also cause a noise if the bolts arent tight enough to bring the axle back and B pipe together, but that would sound quite loud and highish pitched i think.

u want an SRI?
im thinking about letting my apexi go :(
and getting a new weapon R

ive found a way to get the weapon R SRI to take cold air in from the passenger side in front of the mudguard, Just like the CAI's but the pipe will be shorter and much less restrictive.
But the apexi is quite nice. i have a thread of it on here with a pic somewhere xD

In regards to the springs its not too hard everything should fit back together, but u might need to have a spring compressor tool to take them out of their holdings. On the back if u jack it up, u should be able to wiggle it out because the load will be off, but in the front im pretty sure u need a the spring compressor so u can get it off the McPherson's

BROOOO! the sri is just a waste of money in my opinion. i mean tbh it gets you a but of sound up high but it then just makes you wanna redline every time you accelerate and waste all your petrol. and the rear wiper delete. what about changing the stationary point of the wiper. so instead of sitting horizontal, it sits vertical. i think it looks much better. heres a link: http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-diy-repair-maintenance/56562-jdm-wiper-mod.html ESHAYYYS.

Well the wiper mod thing would get kinda annoying i would be like wtf is up with my window!
and i think it only looks nice because that Jazz looks clean.

And the SRI thing isnt a waste the guy has an auto jazz yeh? its like pointless to red line it, when i had the apexi on my auto i just put it into 7speed and brought it to about 5k when i wanted to.
If you have discipline it would be no problem, but it sounds awesum, like a jet/vacuum ~ SWssswswswsw!!! and mine makes that noise all the time ( i dunno if its a good thing lol)

i just replaced the stock rear muffler in both my jazz's as the first "performance" upgrade. gives you a few extra KW @ top 1000rpm. rightprice will throw one on for under $200. you'll spend $1000-1500 for full cat back depending on mufflers and if you want a flex joint, and gain another few kw.

I'd spend the money and run a SRI and pod filter and just do the muffler. 1/2 the $$$ outlay, and same performance over a complete exhaust system. (what i did with my first jazz. until recently, my 2005 jazz ran a K&N panel filter from a Charade. took the stock paper filter into autobarn, and found the closest fit. the charade is a touch too big, so pretty much perfect. couldn't tell you the part number, i'm not longer using it, sorry)

watch a youtube DIY, you will most likely need to get a spring compressor (its a very simple tool)
if i was in sydney, i wouldnt have to pay so much for shipping on every thing, but i would help out LOL

YO SDX9123124523454235235653462. you need spring compressor for the front (for safety; technically you dont really need them). but yeah i mean if you can get the top hat off im sure youre smart enough to point the sussy away from you when you do so. the springs could be tensioned very high and literally 'spring' so be careful!

k.

Yeh man.
if one of those springs has even 1cm of tension that could shoot into your chest at like 40kg of force plus springs are pretty hard so it wont be like a 40kg pillow LOL.

Hey guys, im bringing this baby back to life.

i recently got a cat back made up for my jazz, i think it was made in either 2inch or 50mm piping, in the process of making it the man put on a new muffler.

the muffler was WAY TOO LOUD! it was literally deafening to drive so 2 days later i went to another exhaust bloke and asked him to weld my old xforce cannon onto the newly made catback.

the result is a nice note and a solid rumble, since its the same muffler now theres no point showing pics cos it looks the exact same unless ur under the car.

But whats new is that i burnt the tip to give a blue effect.
