Hey guys,
im just in the middle of a build and tossing up between doing an 11.8:1 comp b20 or doing a 12.5:1 comp b18 but retaining my b18c2 block. Is 12.5:1 comp safe to run with the standard sleeves or must the engine be sleeved?
Thanks
Joe

12.5 is ok with cams to suit. The sleeves are limited by bore size, not compression.
The B18C overbore limit is 82.00mm, after that you'd need sleeves.

so if i was to bore it to 82mm it would still be safe to run 12.5 comp?

Yes, depending on cam choice.
NB: You cant use a factory head gasket @ 82.00mm

What would you recommend camshaft wise. Are your C cams too high lift? Also, can you point me in the right direction as to what is "Safe" Piston to valve clearence?
Thanks

TODA C's would be a good choice with zero clearence problems when installed correctly. ;)
