Hey everyone,

I have a FD2 Civic Sport, and the sunroof is not tinted, however all the windows are.

I always leave the internal sunroof blind open as it provides a better atmosphere. However the sun is killing me through the glass. My Pulsar has a sunroof but very dark tint so it was nice and comfortable.

Has anyone tinted their sunroof glass? If so, what tint do you recommend (5%, 15% 30% etc) and what did it cost you?

Thanks.

If I was you I'd go 5% reasons for are 1.dont think you can get defected cause it doesnt affect your field of vision on the road 2. the cops dont really check your sunroof. and 3 if you wanna drive around with the blind off but window closed the 5% tint will minimise UV rays.

go 5% for sunroof. I don't think it's illegal given u can have that in the back windows (for kids n shit)

Yeah, your right, I can go as dark as I want, no laws to a sunroof. The only thing is I am worried about blocking too much light.

Thats why I wanted to see if anyone else has done it.

mmmm i've been in a car with a 5% sunroof. Doesn't feel that hot so it's good. Less glarey too.

I'd want it to block out as much light if I was driving around with the blind off. Cause only time I actually want sunlight is when I open the sunroof

ok so I have rung around. Ineresting enough, I got 2 responses, they were 50/50. Half said NEVER tint the sunroof. It causes thermal buildup in the glass and can cause it to 'explode' as the sunroof glass is made to expand/contract. Tinting it affect this, and it pops.
The other half said, yep, no problem and all quoted between $50 and $90.
Well, I have taken the advise of the honest people and will not tint it.
The other half don't care and I guess just want the money. Should the glass 'explode' and I take it back, as if they will admit the tint was to blame. They will just push me out the door and I am left buying a new sunroof.
Oh well, I guess I will leave the blind glosed in the middle of the day when the sun is high in the sky.

The AU model doesn't have it tinted, well my FD2 sports isn't anyway. With my Pulsar, the actual glass itself was tinted (very dark) no film.
