Hey guys,
got a H4 Hi/Lo HID fitted in EK, sometimes getting more and more now, only one side would turn on. but if you turn it off and back on the other side would work as well.

the side thats giving me problem is the non battery side..

any takers?

Check all your wiring. Swap the ballasts.

that happened to me previously as well.

It happened a few times where one side turned on only. then once i'd turn it off and on again they would both work.

However, eventually the side that was screwing up didn't turn back on at all...

I bought another hid kit, and did a test if it was a problem with the bulb or if it was the ballast.

First, I switched the old bulb with the new bulb, didn't work.

Next, I tried old bulb with new ballast and BINGO. So obviously the old ballast had blown or something.

Lastly, I tried new bulb and new ballast - just to make sure the new kit worked.

pain in the arse to fix it all up, but it's all sweet now. and looking fine as ever. The End.

try your grounding cable . when its bolted down. turn your hid on and move the cable around, like left right up down twsiting it around if it lights up its your grounding cable.

I think is a faulty ballast. Easy to test.
1)Remove globe and ballast.
2) Plug globe side plugs in and plug in the power plug to the ballast.
3) Carefully place the ballast and globe somewhere secure and put the red and black wire to power and ground respectively.
4) If it lights up, your wiring is wrong. If it doesn't double check plug to ballast. make sure + is lined up with red and - lined up with black.
5) Repeat with good ballast.

you can now find out whether it is the ballast or globe. Have Fun!
