hi all,

as per our meet on Sat, let organise our 2nd DIY day for our Jazz.

date: 20 Feb 2005 (Sunday); David will be going overseas so this is pretty much the last day b4 he's off;

time: TBA;

venue: TBA, probably Sunflower Motors again (where we had our 1st DIY day, unless we had another place to go - open for suggestion)

purpose: fitting radiator net & pipe for intake;

Shaohao (the black Corolla guy who came along on Sat) is about to order some pipe for himself so i'm thinking about getting the pipes together. i guess we may need around 1.5m per car, please let me know if you want more or less;

net should be available at Super Cheap/ Autobarn. can someone please do some price/availability research???

Please reply if you're coming.

i will advise the deadline for the pipe ordering soon.

All suggestion is welcome.

cheers
Philip

I will go!! but i only wanna do the fitting of radiator net, coz' i don't know can u mod the in-take deal to my insuracne!

Do anyone have the graph about how to fit the radiator net & pipe for intake

Philip Lee
31-01-2005, 02:14 PM
u mean instruction?? i won't be bothered, it's very easy.

regarding insurance, we are not changing/altering the intake airbox/filter whatsoever. we are merely sticking a pipe from the bumper to the airbox. i don't see how it would have problem with insurance. it may have problem with warranty if water gets into the engine tho..... but that's unlikely to happen unless u drive through flooted areas.

anyway i need to know the numbers before next Friday 11 Feb 2005 at 3pm so we can go about ordering the pipe.

thanks

it's good but we need to carry tools............

removing a front bumper isn't that hard but isn't exactly a piece of cake either.

but if someone has proper tools and doesn't mind bringing.... (i only have very basic ones like screwdrivers etc)

Since you removing the bumper to install the mesh.
Why not install the Mugen style grille as well.

Yeah. I agreed with you, its more of a personal taste.
I have seen it on BBF car, the mugen grille actually makes the front of the car more rounded and continous finishing from bonnet to bumper .

Anyway those who are interested to install the Mugen grille can PM me so that we can send them for painting togather.

i think if u're after noise, u'll be disappointed. the intake pipe wouldn't make any noise as far as i'm concern. unless u have some big fat metal ones.

sound damping is like.. emm... insulation that you put on the doors to block the Road noise/other noises from outside.

You can use dynamat and other noise insulation material... but my freind's used Carpet on his HRV and it seems to do a good job too..

i think it's DIY for the following items:
- air intake pipe;
- front bumper mesh;
- sound deadening.

of cos we can chat & take photos along the way.

btw Crompton road is out as they're closing during easter. so we're left with Griffiths Uni.

The Company in To Kwan Wan has a webiste, but they didn't but the eyebrow on the website! (www.ebodykit.com (http://www.ebodykit.com))

Actually, i found tha eyebrow form Yahoo! Auction Japan (http://auction.yahoo.co.jp)

Eyebrow in Japanese is アイライン, so in the text field, u can type "fit アイライン" as a keyword, and select "自動車、オートバイ", and then search!

Or u can directly click this URL:
http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/search/auc?p=fit+%A5%A2%A5%A4%A5%E9%A5%A4%A5%F3&auccat=26318&alocale=0jp&acc=jp
