Ordered some springs today for the Euro. I ordered KMAC's as my Insurance company won't allow me to go more than a 25mm drop and am getting fitted them this Saturday. They will do the custom springs without any massive price increase to the height you want. I will have to see if I need to do the Camber/Caster after they are fitted.

Also if anyone is interested a few Guys that I know (I am a moderator on a Toyota forum my car before the Euro was a Corolla Sportivo) are getting together on Saturday at 3:00PM in Melbourne at

Cafe Crema
Arrow on Swanston
488 Swanston Street Carlton

Let me know otherwise will meet you at another time.

25mm drop, you will definately need camber adjustments for the rear. K-Mac do these as well.

I disagree it is "definately" needed. It depends on the springs and the drop - it is a case by case thing. A good suspension place will always check alignment after the drop - they may be able to get the settings within specification with a small 25mm drop.

But the main concern is that the rear wheels from factory is already at a negative one degree camber.. I think a camber kit will be advisable unless changing tyres more often forms part of the agenda :)

At the moment it is a wait and see they will advise as yfin said. I have the upgraded suspension on my 05 Euro so will see if I need it then I will get it.

Peekay, just wondering if you have installed the Springs yet, I want to see visually how much it dropped the car in comparison to the Eibachs that Slugoid got off Baboo... :)

Since you're in Melbourne too, I won't mind meeting you up for a coffee, possibly with the rest of the Euro boys here...

No problems I just need to be in Melbourne long enough to get a chance. I am travelling to Sydney and interstate like it is going out of fashion...(just went gold with qf ff). The sway bar has arrived and I will pick it up tomorrow, while I am in Melb for a few days, I have had the camber kit for weeks but never home enough to fit it :( . Easter I will be home so that maybe a good time. I also may be able to help a few people out on a buy for the sway bar as I get it fairly good discount ...approx $165 delivered to melbourne (207.00 RRP). But I am not sure if the hassle is worth it but if I get enough interest maybe and my arm is twisted enought.

The EuroR Pedals have arrived as well.

I would definately get the sway bar for $165 delivered!!

Plus Postage or courier would be required tho. Also 207RRP quoted is not delivered price or GST so $165 + I think includes GST but will check plus postage is still quite good.

If I could only afford to buy your exhaust...I would but am broke with all the mods so far.... :(. Tell you what I will give you the sway bar you give me your exhaust.....good swap you reckon?....lol

I'm glad more people are getting the Whiteline swaybar. It's a simple and relatively cheap mod, but does wonders in terms of handling ;)

Is there any chamber kit for the Euro that's less then $200. Cos with the Eibach springs I've noticed that it's got a little bit more camber all fours. Not big of a problem but if I can get one for cheap I will. Also, is the installation easy, as in remove wheel and bolt on or have to remove the spring and shocks too??

Hey guys, I'm new to this Forum. Just ordered an 05 Arctic Blue Euro Luxury Auto...picking it up on Tuesday. Bought it from Westside Honda in Melbourne after much dilemmas...but that's for another thread.

I'm looking at getting it lowered immediately and my cousin in Sydney said K-Mac is the go. But I've heard its better to go the coilovers as opposed to springs on their own. Any suggestions?

Also, I'd be interested in the Whiteline swaybar if it is such a good buy!!!

Any comments on the camber kits? I'm planning to put at least 18in wheels on too so probably need the camber kit too right?

Anyway, the point of the post is "is K-Mac the way to go if you want to lower an 05 Accord Euro Lux??"

In the TSX forums, some owners reported blowing their shocks from just lowering the car with springs, prolly it's just the way they drive..

If you plan to track the car, coilovers are the way to go, you can still however have coilovers for everyday driving if you want.

As for the springs, there are Eibachs, King Springs, Pedders, K-Mac, Espliers etc etc to choose from, heard nothing bad about them at this point so it's really up to you.

When you lower the car, your rear camber will be pushing -3 Degrees (From Factory, it's alread -1 degree), I would recommend a camber kit, one member had his car lowered and had a camber kit installed which pushed the camber to -0.75.. Do a search, you will be able to find the info...

I also read that you are after some 18s.. I'm selling mine if you are interested....

Just being talking to a friend about the camber kit he installed on his Euro. He had Eibach springs installed and put the back into a -2.5+ camber, so he decided to get a camber kit to push it back into -1.

Guess what? His rear tyres are worn unevenly on the outter edge!!

Chris_F
29-04-2005, 10:12 AM
so what's happened?... correcting the camber to factory settings actually made the tires where worse than without installing the camber?

baboo
29-04-2005, 10:24 AM
well sort of, it really depends on the car & setting.

I have lowered the car for ages, the tyres wore evenly on the rear even though my rear are -2.8 degree.

Chris_F
29-04-2005, 10:29 AM
interesting... you think it'd be worth leaving the camber kit alone untill you noticed uneven wear?
