Hi Guys,

I changed my air-con setting from cold to hot on my DC2R tonight and for some unknown reason after 10mins of driving the air doesn't seem to be heating at all..

Any idea's what could be wrong?

When using cold air the AC is like ICE...

Cheers
G

Ice---- hmmm wahhahah

ok. did your engine temp come up to speed?

1)If it did, check you coolant level. Is it good? If there is no water, fill it up. heater will now work, but check for external leaks esp from heater core under passengers foot well or perished hoses in the engine bay. otheriwse head needs to be serviced----- common hondas when they age.

2)Also there is a mechanical valve under the dash that could be faulty --- doubt it tho.

Have fun

Could be your heater core. Hopefully not - isn't cheap from experience.

is it easy to pull the slide thingo to hot to cold>? if so check the wire grabber to see if its lose, as it needs to be secured into the pole to open and close the hatch

This is my 3rd dc2r ... It feels alot easier to slide accross then my other DC2R's they felt really hard to slide so maybe your right the wire grabber came loose?

This hard to fix?

look in your engine bay up against the fire wall you will see a little box with a coolant pipe running to it. there should be a pole there with a wire with a ring on the end of it that is connected to that little pole (its only a couple of cm) if thats connected, its worth a shot to check if the hose connected to that is clogged with gunk.

check your coolant level
look under the dash and see if the cable is still there, if cable still there remove it and operate it by hand and see if it works
if it doesn't work you got a problem in your heater box
is there any water/coolant leaking any where around the heater core?
go to engine bay look roughly in the middle of the engine bay, should see to black houses going into heater box, is the cable still there? if so remove it and operate it by hand this is your heater tap,,

turn the aircon off if you want heat.

Keep sliding the lever to each side , while feeling the back of your dash directly behind where the wire would be then go try and see if the wire has came of the pole
