After an action packed few months competing in D1 New Zealand Yokohama Advan’s Jake Jones (http://advanwheels.com.au/racing/car.aspx?id=32&eid=-50) has vowed to return his Onevia to take on Australia’s best at the Tectaloy International Drift challenge in August. After battling mechanical gremlins, major earthquakes and fires, Jake is confident his run of bad luck is well and truly behind him.

“Everything that can break has now broken and replaced with something stronger and we aim to be very competitive at Eastern Creek.’ said Jake from his home in Tanunda South Australia “as this is a Yokohama Advan (http://advanwheels.com.au/racing/car.aspx?id=32&eid=-50) /Hi Octane backed event and both Yokohama Advan and Hi Octane are my sponsors I will certainly be pushing like never before for a podium finish”

After finishing in 3rd place at Drift Australia behind Luke Fink and Simon Podlewski, Jake is very eager to get back into serious competition in Australia and with all the top opponents coming over from New Zealand it is sure to be a drift show like no other.

“No one should ever underestimate the Kiwi contingent” said Jake “these guys have been running on high speed tracks over there for years, the average entry speed at Pukekohe is something like 200km/h so it will certainly be interesting at Eastern Creek”
