Just installed type r rods into my b18c2 block.. The piston arrows ontop of the piston are all facing the correct way. The rod caps have p72 casted on the bottom of them but the P72 casting on each rod are all facing opposite of eachother.. It doesnt look right. Is there a sequence that the type r rods should be installed??

did you get the bores honed?
did you get new oil rings? and compression rings?
all pistons should be marked out before removal unless they are brand new. or machined

Bores honed.. New rings.. The pistons are good. The issue is that i cant see why the rod caps are each stamped differently. 2 rods have a little square after the p72 and the other 2 just say p72. They are also stamped opposite to eachother..What sequence am i supposed to put these rods in

When I did my b20, one was facing the opposite way as well, i found that odd, but i think most important is your piston is facing the right way. Is the caps on right? there is a number on the rod in which half is on the rod, and half is on the caps, make sure that the numbers line up. Then as long as you check your big end bearing clearence to be alright, should be fine.

Line them up via the bearing tangs.
All bearing tangs go to the exhaust side, then the rod is the correct orientation.
