Hi guys,

Got the car last week!! Now looking to get few things added to it and the first one is tinting.

Rang few places and quotes range from $190 (backyard job but good reviews) to $395 (octane from tint a car). Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which way I should go? I just want something decent (looks good but legal), blocks maximum heat and doesn't obstruct view during night driving.

Also, I was told by one of the places to avoid tinting for Euro as the door trim may damage it. Any comments on this?

Thanks!

EDIT: I am in Melbourne.

Don't pay $395 that's ridiculous. Just keep ringing around. You will find someone that is cheap and does a good job. As for the door trim damaging the tint, I never had a problem with my tint.

These are the best quotes so far from Tint a Car:
Midnight Express: $295
Octane: $345

I just can't make up my mind if I should go with one of the above (again which one?) or go to Sam who does backyard job? Anyone here who have had experience with Sam from Blackburn North? What sort of tints he use (heat/glare reduction %)?

I'd go midnight express. Seems like a decent price from a shop

Don't skimp on quality. The cheap stuff can go purple, form bubbles and come off in a few years. Also, consider not tinting the rear window. It's easier to spot the police that way.
